Luke Bryan is looking forward to celebrating a major milestone on American Idol. The country singer will return as a judge for Season 25 in 2027, marking his 10th season on the popular singing competition. As the show prepares for its milestone year, Bryan expects the new season to bring back plenty of memories.
Speaking recently to Country Countdown USA, Bryan said he felt “honored to have done 10 years” as a judge on the show.
“It’s a family show, lot of wonderful memories during the past 10 years,” he added.

Bryan also shared what fans might expect when American Idol celebrates its 25th season. “I expect there will be a lot of nostalgic moments, and I’ll get to see how I’ve aged over the last ten years,” he said.
Last month, Bryan confirmed that he would return alongside fellow judges Carrie Underwood and Lionel Richie when the competition comes back to ABC in 2027. The same judging panel will continue for Season 25, giving viewers another chance to watch the three musicians guide aspiring singers through the competition.
ABC has not announced an official premiere date for the upcoming season. However, recent seasons have generally premiered early in the year. Season 24 debuted in late January, earlier than the show’s usual schedule, so it remains to be seen whether Season 25 will follow a similar timeline.
Bryan and Richie first joined the American Idol judging panel in 2018, when the series moved from FOX to ABC for its 16th season. They were joined by Katy Perry, who remained a judge through Season 22.

In Season 23, Perry left the panel and was replaced by Underwood, the country singer who won American Idol Season 4 in 2005. Season 25 will mark Underwood’s third season as a judge, while Bryan will reach his 10-season milestone and Richie will continue his long-running role on the panel.
Longtime host Ryan Seacrest is also set to return for the new season, keeping another familiar face in place as the show celebrates its 25th year.

With Bryan, Underwood, Richie, and Seacrest all returning, Season 25 will bring together a lineup that has become familiar to viewers in recent years. Bryan’s comments suggest the anniversary season will look back on the show’s history while continuing its search for the next generation of music talent.
