Rising British actor Matthew Broome, best known for The Buccaneers on Apple TV+ and Prime Video’s My Fault: London franchise, says he has no idea what project will come next—but admits he would eagerly audition if given the chance to become the next James Bond.

Broome is set to receive the International Golden Nymph for Most Promising Talent at the Monte-Carlo Television Festival, marking the first award of his career. Speaking ahead of the ceremony, the actor said the recognition was both surreal and deeply meaningful, adding that it reassured him he was moving in the right direction professionally and hoped it would open new opportunities in the future.

This week also marks the release of Your Fault: London, the second installment in the hit romance trilogy, which continues the complicated relationship between Noah (Asha Banks) and Nick (Broome).

Looking back on the success of My Fault: London, Broome admitted he never expected the film to become such a major hit. He explained that with so much content released by streaming platforms, it is easy for projects to go unnoticed.

Although he wasn’t initially aware of just how massive the franchise’s fanbase was, he quickly realized the scale of its popularity after learning more about Mercedes Ron’s bestselling novels and the hugely successful Spanish-language film adaptations.

Broome also acknowledged that announcing an English-language remake so soon after the original Spanish film generated skepticism among many fans. He understood why audiences were hesitant, saying there was considerable pressure on the cast to prove the new adaptation could stand on its own. When the first film was ultimately embraced by viewers, he described the feeling as incredibly rewarding.

As for what comes next, Broome admitted he currently has no idea where his next acting role will come from, describing that uncertainty as both exciting and intimidating.

When asked whether he had been invited to audition for the next James Bond film, the actor laughed and revealed he had not. Even so, he said he would love the opportunity, joking that few British actors would turn down the chance to audition for such an iconic role.

Although Our Fault: London, the third and final film in the trilogy, is now in post-production, Broome isn’t ruling out returning to the franchise someday. He pointed out that author Mercedes Ron has written a fourth novel, adding that while the trilogy is complete for now, “never say never” when it comes to revisiting Nick’s story.
