Brytni Sarpy is returning to the world of daytime television with a new role on Days of Our Lives, marking her latest move after memorable runs on General Hospital and The Young and the Restless. The soap has confirmed her casting, but one important detail is still being kept under wraps: the identity of her character.
The actress shared the news through an Instagram post showing her posing outside her dressing room at the soap’s Burbank studios. Her room number is 26, but Days of Our Lives has yet to reveal who she will portray.
Sarpy is no stranger to the fast-paced world of daytime drama. She first became widely recognized by soap fans when she joined General Hospital in 2015 as Valerie Spencer.

From ‘General Hospital’ to ‘The Young and the Restless’
On General Hospital, Valerie was connected to the iconic Spencer family. She was the daughter of Pat Spencer, the niece of Luke Spencer and Bobbie Spencer, and the cousin of Lulu Spencer.
Her character also became involved in several romantic storylines, including a one-night stand with Dante Falconeri and a brief relationship with Dillon Quartermaine.
In 2016, Sarpy moved to recurring status on General Hospital as she pursued additional acting opportunities. She ultimately remained connected to the soap before leaving Port Charles in 2019.
That same year, she began a new chapter on The Young and the Restless, taking on the role of Elena Dawson.
Sarpy remained with Y&R until 2024. During her time in Genoa City, Elena became a doctor after earning her medical license and became involved in several complicated relationships and scandals.
She dated Devon Hamilton before cheating on him with his cousin, Nate Hastings. Elena also worked alongside Audra Charles while attempting to track down J.T. Hellstrom.

Sarpy Knows What It Takes to Work in Daytime TV
In a previous interview with Soap Opera Digest, Sarpy reflected on the experience she gained while working on General Hospital.
She described the show as her first opportunity to work consistently on a truly professional set, where she learned how to manage large amounts of material, work under pressure and complete scenes efficiently.
She also highlighted the unique demands of daytime television, noting that soap actors often film significantly more episodes than performers working in primetime or feature films.
For Sarpy, that demanding environment helped her become more adaptable and confident as an actor.
Beyond her daytime roles, Sarpy has appeared in projects including Tyler Perry’s The Haves and the Have Nots, New Girl, The Wrong Husband, and a Lay’s commercial titled “So Many Flavors,” which aired in 2019.
When Will Brytni Sarpy Appear on ‘Days of Our Lives’?
Although Sarpy has already joined the production, fans will have to wait before seeing her on screen.
Because of Days of Our Lives’ production schedule, her episodes are not expected to air immediately. Her debut is currently anticipated for sometime in mid-2027.
Sarpy’s casting is also the second major Days of Our Lives casting announcement in the past week. Sydney Malakeh was previously announced in a mystery role and is scheduled to make her debut on September 9.
