Jenna Johnson is facing criticism over her Disney Night performance with celebrity partner Harry Shum Jr. on Dancing with the Stars Season 35. The professional dancer has been accused of drawing too much attention to herself during their routine instead of keeping the focus on Harry.
A source claimed that Jenna’s choreography had raised questions among other professional dancers, particularly because she included a solo moment during the performance. The criticism has also brought renewed attention to her long-standing dream of making her Broadway debut.
However, Harry reportedly has not complained about the situation and has continued to take everything in stride.

Jenna Johnson’s Solo Moment Sparks Criticism
The controversy centers on Jenna and Harry’s Mary Poppins-themed jazz routine to “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” on Disney Night. The performance earned them a perfect score of 40, but one choreography choice reportedly did not sit well with everyone.

Jenna danced alone for approximately 10 seconds while Harry was off camera for several seconds. A source claimed that other professional dancers questioned the decision while watching rehearsals.
Some viewers also felt the routine should have given Harry more time in the spotlight rather than allowing his professional partner to take center stage.

“This is NOT the Jenna Show!! Harry is supposed to be the star of the dance,” one viewer wrote. Another called Jenna’s decision “ridiculous.”
The source also claimed that Harry had not raised any concerns and was handling the situation without making a fuss.
Jenna Johnson’s Broadway Dream Raises Questions
The criticism has also been connected to Jenna’s reported plans to pursue a Broadway opportunity after Season 35 and the upcoming DWTS tour.
“Jenna’s gunning for a Broadway role, 100%,” the source claimed. “She has become more and more focused on her getting a Broadway offer after this season and after the DWTS tour ends than she is highlighting Harry and it shows.”

The source also questioned the decision to give Jenna a solo during Disney Night, claiming it was unusual for a professional dancer to put herself in the spotlight that way.
“She put a solo of herself into the routine for Disney Night – which is basically unheard of for a pro to do. Jenna is doing a disservice to [Harry] by putting the emphasis on herself, and the other pros know it,” the source added.

Jenna has openly discussed her interest in performing on Broadway. During a September interview with PEOPLE, the two-time Mirrorball champion revealed that she hoped to make her Broadway debut in Chicago.
She specifically mentioned Roxie Hart and Velma Kelly as roles she would love to play. Jenna also said she would consider moving to New York with her husband, fellow professional dancer Val Chmerkovskiy, if the right opportunity came along.
The dancer explained that Broadway had been a longtime goal, but her commitments to Dancing with the Stars and its tour had made it difficult to pursue.
Several DWTS personalities have already appeared in Chicago, including Ariana Madix, Whitney Leavitt and professional dancer Mark Ballas.
Representatives for Jenna and Dancing with the Stars were contacted for comment.
Harry Shum Jr. And Jenna Johnson Remain Season Favorites
Despite the criticism surrounding their Disney Night choreography, Harry and Jenna remain among the strongest partnerships in Season 35.
Harry, 44, is widely recognized for his roles in Glee and Grey’s Anatomy. His dancing has earned strong scores throughout the competition, and he and Jenna have already received another perfect score before Disney Night.
Their partnership remains a serious contender for the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy as the competition approaches its final weeks.
The Season 35 finale is scheduled for Tuesday, November 24, leaving the pair with limited time to strengthen their position before the winner is announced.
