Riley Green has shown that he does not forget a promise, even after a contestant’s journey on The Voice comes to an end. The country singer recently surprised former Team Riley artist Brandy Neelly with a custom cake, following through on a playful offer he made during her Season 30 audition.
The 31-year-old Nashville-based singer, who also works as a baker, revealed that she had a special connection to Green before appearing on the show. She had previously made a birthday cake for him when he turned 23.

Neelly introduced herself through a performance of Jo Dee Messina’s 1998 hit “Lesson In Leavin’,” impressing both Green and fellow coach Queen Latifah. After praising her vocals, Green made her an offer: “If you pick me, I’ll make you a cake.”
Neelly accepted and joined Team Riley. What initially seemed like a lighthearted exchange turned into a promise Green was determined to keep.
Riley Green Delivers a Cake With a Personal Touch

Neelly’s time on the competition was shorter than she had hoped. She became the first contestant eliminated during a close Battle against sisters Ferryn and Brinkley in the October 6 episode.
However, her elimination did not mean Green had forgotten their cake deal. In a video shared on social media, Neelly revealed that the promised surprise had finally arrived.
The custom cake was an elaborate three-tier creation decorated with camouflage patterns, pink frosting and The Voice branding. Mallard ducks and a pink microphone added personal touches, while the words “Team Riley” appeared across the top.
“Look, I got the cake,” Neelly announced as she showed off the finished creation. She later shared closer photos on her Instagram Story, thanking her former coach with a simple message: “A promise is a promise, thank you, Riley.”
Nashville Baker Helped Bring Green’s Idea to Life

Although Green is known for his songwriting, performances and passion for hunting, the detailed cake was created with help from a professional baker.
The custom design came from Mads Eatz, a Nashville-based business known for elaborate cakes. Neelly also clarified Green’s involvement in a TikTok comment, describing him as the cake’s “creative director.”
The explanation added another playful detail to the surprise, suggesting that Green helped shape the concept while leaving the baking itself to someone with the skills to execute the intricate design.
Although Neelly’s The Voice journey ended early, Green’s gesture gave her another memorable moment connected to the competition. Season 30, meanwhile, is continuing toward the Final 13, with the show scheduled to return Monday, November 9, at 8/7c on NBC.
