“You Won’t See This Coming”: Outlander: Blood of My Blood Season 2 Cast Tease a Finale That Will Completely Wreck Us

We’ve been patiently waiting for the Outlander: Blood of My Blood finale, but unsurprisingly, season 2 is what we need to pay attention to. Luckily for us, production has been underway since the first season began airing, so it shouldn’t be too long before we have the episodes for ourselves.

So far, the hit Starz show has come the closest yet to a potential Outlander crossover – at least, if the episode 10 trailer is anything to go by. Henry (Jeremy Irvine) and Julia (Hermione Corfield) are still having the worst time of it following their lengthy separation, with Brian (Jamie Roy) now free from the grip of his hideously cruel father. Ellen (Harriet Slater) is meanwhile hoping she doesn’t have to marry Malcolm Grant (Simon Merrells).

We still need answers to send us on our way to season 2, which is set for an early 2026 release, but we’re likely to be left with more questions than we already have. Details are being closely guarded, but Irvine and Corfield explained to me that season 2 will be “wildly not what we expect.” Intrigue!

‘Wild’ Outlander: Blood of My Blood season 2 is something we won’t expect, say cast

“You’ll see your characters at the end of season 1, and then where they start season 2 is wildly not what you’d expect,” Irvine says. “I wasn’t expecting it. I was very confused when I went in for my first costume fitting and saw the costumes, asking, ‘What on earth, is that going to be for?’

What this means, I cannot say. We know out of all four of our main characters that Henry and Julia are in the biggest pickle, so it makes sense that they have the most convoluted plot heading into new episodes.

If the cast is anything to go by, they’ve probably not been entirely sure either – season 1 filmed four alternative endings, and they’ve got no idea which will be used until tonight.

“We get given our scripts while we’re filming the block before,” Corfield says. “We’re currently doing block one and two [of season 2], and we won’t start to see scripts for block three until we’re nearly done with block two, so you’re constantly learning where your character is going as well. We actually have no clue what’s really coming.”

Irvine adds, “We filmed about four different endings for season one, so we still haven’t seen which one they’ve gone for in the final edit.” With the final edit now complete, this could have changed.

But even so, we’ve got a real mystery on our hands, both tonight and in season 2… so get ready.
