The actor shared a playful photo of himself soaring over a body of water on a rope swing, joking in the caption that although he may have chickened out because the water was freezing, he still deserved credit for giving it a try.

Fans, however, were just as distracted by another detail—the actor’s tiny swim trunks looked like they were barely staying in place, making the daring moment even more eye-catching.

The carefree outing comes after an emotional period in Haynes’ personal life. Earlier that year, he mourned the loss of his mother and later announced his split from husband Jeff Leatham.

Despite the difficult months, there were signs the former couple remained on good terms.
