The magical adventures of The Librarians: The Next Chapter may not be over just yet. As the TNT series approaches the end of its second season, fans are already wondering whether Vikram, Lysa, Connor and Guardian Charlie will return for another round of supernatural chaos.
Season 2 has expanded the mythology of the franchise with the return of Merlin, while also bringing back familiar faces from the original The Librarians. However, there has been no official renewal announcement for Season 3 yet.

Has The Librarians: The Next Chapter been renewed?
Not at this time.
The Season 2 finale is scheduled to air on September 7, so details about the show’s future remain uncertain. For now, TNT has not confirmed that The Librarians: The Next Chapter will continue for a third season.
Creator Dean Devlin, however, has made it clear that he is interested in returning.
“Listen, if somebody says they want one, I’ll make it because I love making this show,” Devlin said.
That leaves the door open for another season, although an official renewal is still needed before production plans can move forward.
What could Season 3 look like?

Season 2 has followed Vikram (Callum McGowan), Lysa (Olivia Morris), Connor (Bluey Robinson) and their Guardian, Charlie (Jessica Green), as they deal with the awakening of Merlin (Dominic Monaghan).
The central question has been whether Merlin can truly be trusted. While some members of the group remain suspicious of him, Elaine (Caroline Loncq), who knew Merlin during their time in Camelot, has been unwilling to believe that he cannot be redeemed.
Before Season 2 premiered, Devlin explained that Merlin initially presents himself as someone attempting to make amends for his past. As the season progresses, his actions begin to reveal whether that claim can be believed.
If the show returns, Devlin has also suggested there could be more appearances from characters connected to the original series.
Season 2 brought back Christian Kane as Jacob Stone and Lindy Booth as Cassandra Cillian. According to Devlin, other original cast members have also expressed interest in returning should the series receive a third season.
“We won’t see [any others] this season, but get us a third season, and everybody has told me they want to come back,” he said. “So, with that kind of energy, it would be great if we had another season and I could bring more characters back.”
Who could return for Season 3?
Nothing has been confirmed yet, but the current main cast includes Callum McGowan, Olivia Morris, Bluey Robinson, Jessica Green and Caroline Loncq.
Dominic Monaghan has had a recurring role as Merlin in Season 2, while Christian Kane and Lindy Booth reprised their roles from the original The Librarians series.
Whether all of them would return for a potential third season remains unknown. Likewise, fans will have to wait to see whether additional original characters could make their way back into the franchise.
A Season 3 premiere date also cannot be determined at this point because the series has not yet been renewed.
What is The Librarians: The Next Chapter about?

The series follows Vikram, a Librarian from the past who travels through time and becomes stranded in the present.
After discovering that his castle in Serbia has been turned into a museum, Vikram inadvertently unleashes magic across Europe. He then joins forces with Lysa, Connor and Charlie as they attempt to recover powerful supernatural artifacts and restore order.
With the Season 2 finale arriving September 7, the immediate future of the series remains up in the air. For now, fans have Devlin’s enthusiasm for another season — and the willingness of former cast members to return — as encouraging signs.
