With over 300 million subscribers, Netflix is one of the most popular streaming services in the world. And just what do those people tend to watch? In particular, what is the most popular movie on Netflix? Each week, the streaming service releases a list of its 10 most-watched movies over a recent seven-day period to keep subscribers informed about its most popular titles.

Nobody does action like Liam Neeson. The 73-year-old is the star of Ice Road: Vengeance, an action thriller that sits atop the Netflix charts this week. KPop Demon Hunters moves to No. 2, while The Wrong Paris comes in at No. 3. Below, we’ve listed the top 10 movies in the U.S. from September 15 to 21, along with general information about each film, such as genre, rating, cast, and synopsis.

10. Shrek 2 (2004)

After winning over the girl of his dreams, Shrek (Mike Myers) marries Fiona (Cameron Diaz), which should have been his happy ever after. After returning from their honeymoon, Shrek is summoned to meet Fiona’s parents in the kingdom of Far Far Away.

Upon arrival, Fiona’s parents had no idea that Shrek and Fiona were ogres. Fairy Godmother (Jennifer Saunders) offers to help Fiona. What Fairy Godmother really wants is for Fiona to marry her son, Prince Charming (Rupert Everett). Shrek won’t go away quietly, so he teams with Donkey (Eddie Murphy) and Puss in Boots (Antonio Banderas) to thwart Fairy Godmother’s plans.

In 2020, teenager Lauryn Licari and her boyfriend received suspicious messages that eventually turned into threats. The scam goes on for 15 months before police finally identify the culprit. It’s a twist that you’ll never see coming.

7. 28 Years Later (2025)

In 2002, Danny Boyle and Alex Garland introduced the world to violent zombies in 28 Days Later. 23 years later, Boyle and Garland reteamed for the third installment in the franchise, 28 Years Later. Nearly three decades after the Rage Virus ravaged Europe, the British Isles remain in quarantine.

In a secluded community, Jamie (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and his son, Spike (Alfie Williams), embark on a hunting trip to the mainland. While the infected wreak havoc, it’s the other survivors that pose a bigger problem for the survivors.

Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin proved they were a formidable comedic duo in Netflix’s Grace and Frankie. Fonda and Tomlin took their creative partnership to the big screen in Moving On. After the death of her college friend Joyce, Claire (Jane Fonda) travels across the country to attend the funeral.

There, Claire runs into Evelyn (Tomlin), Claire’s college roommate and lover. With Joyce out of the picture, Claire plans to kill Howard (Malcolm McDowell), Joyce’s widower, who wronged her. Evelyn joins in on the plan, which then turns into a journey of forgiveness.

A terrifying home invasion is dramatized in Terror Comes Knocking: The Marcela Borges Story. In November 2009, Marcela Borges (Dascha Polanco) lives with her husband and young son in the gated community of Winter Garden, Florida. Marcela is pregnant with another child at this time.

One day, armed intruders infiltrate the home and hold Marcela and her family hostage. The criminals threaten to kill the Borges unless they pay $200,000. Without that money on hand, Marcela must buy herself some time to figure out a solution to escape this nightmare.

Dawn earns a spot on the show, but her Parisian dreams are crushed when it films in Paris, Texas. Dawn asks the bachelor, Trey McAllen (Pierson Fodé), to eliminate her from the competition, but she reconsiders after falling in love with him. Maybe the Paris twist won’t be so bad after all.

2. KPop Demon Hunters (2025)

KPop Demon Hunters is exactly what you think it’s about: K-Pop singers who kill demons in their spare time. In this world, demons have been preying on humans for generations and feeding their souls to their ruler, Gwi-Ma (Lee Byung-hun). One K-pop girl group, HUNTR/X, sets out to fight demons when they’re not performing their hit songs onstage.

The group consists of Rumi (Arden Cho), Mira (May Hong), and Zoey (Ji-young Yoo). The girls are winning the battle between humans and demons, so the latter fight music with music by creating a rival boy band, the Saja Boys. Something has to give in the war to rule the world.

Mike heads to Nepal and hires a local guide (Fan Bingbing) to accompany him up the mountain. On the drive, Mike’s bus becomes the target of mercenaries who want to kill an important passenger. In true Neeson fashion, his character grabs a gun and fights back in an effort to save the trip
