Sisterly Songwriting Surprise! Trisha Yearwood Teams Up With Her Sister for New Album After Being Told She Wasn’t a Songwriter.

Trisha Yearwood is stepping into her own as a songwriter. And she’s not doing it alone.

When she releases her album “The Mirror” on July 18, it will be her first where she co-wrote and co-produced every single track.

In an Instagram post celebrating her big news, Trisha writes the album title in pink lipstick on a mirror. In the caption, she writes, “My first fully co-written and co-produced album, “The Mirror” will be yours on July 18th. This is a new chapter for me and one I cannot wait to share with you, so two songs are dropping tomorrow to give you a taste of what’s to come. I am so proud of this record and hope you love it as much as I loved creating it. xoxo”

But now she’s revealing that one of her co-writers was someone very close to her. And no, it’s not husband Garth Brooks.

In a new post on Instagram, Trisha reveals that she co-wrote her single “Bringing the Angels” with her sister, Beth Yearwood Bernard.


Trisha Yearwood Celebrates ‘The Mirror’ As a New Chapter

In the Instagram video, Yearwood says she has set a goal to pick back up guitar playing, saying she put down the guitar after being told she “wasn’t a songwriter” when she arrived in Nashville.

She captioned the video, “They told me I wasn’t a songwriter, so I turned around and co-wrote a whole album. How y’all liking the new songs so far? Ready for more?”

While the album doesn’t drop until July 18, Yearwood has already released to singles from it- “Bringing the Angels” and “The Wall or the Way Over.”

In an Instagram post celebrating her big news, a video shows Trisha writing the album title in pink lipstick on a mirror. In the caption, she shares her excitement, writing, “My first fully co-written and co-produced album, “The Mirror” will be yours on July 18th. This is a new chapter for me and one I cannot wait to share with you… I am so proud of this record and hope you love it as much as I loved creating it. xoxo”


Trisha Yearwood Has Worked With Sister Beth Before

Trisha Yearwood fans will recognize Beth from the many times she appeared on Yearwood’s Food Network Show “Trisha’s Southern Kitchen.“

The sisters also teamed up in a collaboration with Williams Sonoma for the “Gwendolyn Dinnerware Collection.” In a YouTube video about the dinnerware, it says the collection was inspired by Trisha and Beth’s mother, Gwendolyn.

When Gwendolyn passed away, Trisha and Beth found her drawings for intricate cake icing designs and used those to create the dinnerware designs.

“Gwendolyn Records” is also the name of Trisha’s record label.


Trisha Yearwood Launches Tour to Support New Album

Trisha Yearwood has already started touring to support her new album, “The Mirror.”

In an Instagram post, Yearwood put up a series of short clips and pictures from her first two shows in Texas and Oklahoma, writing “New York, you’re up next 🩵 xoxo” Yearwood will play The Town Hall in New York City May 15.

So far, she’s only released tour dates through May 17, with the exception of two performances with the Nashville Symphony December 2 and 3. You can find tour dates and tickets here.
