Richard Madeley And Judy Finnigan’s Downcast Stroll After His Shattered Elbow Surgery

They’re one of the nation’s most beloved celebrity couples, having been the toast of daytime TV for much of the ’90s and ’00s.

But despite the trappings of their success, both Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan cut downcast figures as they went for a countryside stroll on Friday.

Having just had an operation to fix a shattered elbow, Richard, 60, was seen sporting a cast on his left arm as his 68-year-old wife walked close to his side.

The married couple, who shot to fame in the nineties at the helm of ITV’s This Morning, appeared to be feeling less-than chipper as they enjoyed a stroll together.

Placing a supportive yet tender hand on Richard’s right arm, Judy looked the picture of a compassionate and caring wife.

Both of the couple looked to be in the mood to take things easy and dressed down for their countryside jaunt.

Richard went for a plain black polo shirt teamed with bootcut jeans and sturdy walking boots, and a black Barbour jacket which he slung around his shoulders.

Judy meanwhile went for a laid-back yet cosy vibe, teaming a black jumper with navy joggers and a pair of warm furry winter boots.

Making sure she wouldn’t get caught out by any chill weather, wrapping herself up in a warm black parka jacket.

The TV favourite also opted to go make-up free and wore her signature blonde locks loose.

The couple’s outing came after Richard revealed he’d had a painful accident on Wednesday.

Taking to social media on Friday, the journalist and author revealed the extent of his injuries with a tongue-in-cheek message and selfie.

The former This Morning host captioned the shot: ‘My personal ‘snap’ of the day. Titanium plates await!’

Richard has been keen to keep fans updated since Wednesday’s accident, when he revealed he ‘shattered his left elbow’.

He initially wrote: ‘They say there’s a 1st time for everything.So today I broke my arm falling on ice!Went down hard+smashed it!Op tomoz. ‘Sigh’….’

And followed it with: ‘Lucky it was the left one and weirdly it’s still pretty functional.But as Lennon said:’Life’s what happens when you’re making other plans.’

Three days after the incident and post-surgery, Richard was in a reflective mood, writing: ‘3days now as one-armed bandit after shattering left elbow.Hardest things;laces+watch strap.But BOY,does a broken arm hurt! UlnaUlnaUlna!!!’

Just two days prior, Richard and his wife Judy, 68, enjoyed a winter walk in Hampstead.

Judy clung to the arm that Richard would go on to break, wearing a hooded winter coat over a plunging black top. She dressed down in navy jogging bottoms and tan UGG boots.
