The Voice Season 30 Is Changing Its Schedule and Voting After Battles, With Producers Warning Fans to Expect a Different Season

The Voice Season 30 is making major changes to its weekly schedule and voting system, giving viewers a new way to follow the competition as the singers fight for a place in the Live Shows. With fewer episodes each week and results announced on the same night as the performances, the rest of the season will look different from previous years.

When Season 30 premiered, The Voice aired three nights a week, from Monday through Wednesday. The expanded premiere week gave viewers more time to meet new coaches Riley Green and Queen Latifah, alongside returning coaches Adam Levine and Kelly Clarkson.

The show later returned to its usual two-night schedule on Mondays and Tuesdays. However, that arrangement is about to change again.

Beginning October 19, The Voice will air only on Monday nights. Tuesday evenings will be taken over by NBA programming, leaving the singing competition with just one regular night each week. The schedule change means fans will need to adjust their viewing routines as the season moves into its next stage.

The competition is also introducing a new format. Instead of the traditional Knockout Rounds, Season 30 will have “Cut Week.” During this stage, each coach will select two contestants to advance directly to the Live Shows. The remaining singers will compete for the final spots, making the battle for a place in the next round even more important.

Another major change involves the voting process. For the first time in the show’s 30-season history, live performances and eliminations will take place on the same night. Viewers will no longer have to wait until a later episode to discover which contestants move forward.

Audrey Morrissey, executive producer of The Voice, explained the new format after the season premiered. “It’s real-time voting. So, everybody performs, and we find out that night who’s moving on.”

The new system could make the Live Shows more intense, as singers will perform and learn their fate within the same evening. It also gives viewers a more immediate role in deciding which artists continue in the competition.

Six weeks of Live Shows confirmed

Despite airing only once a week, Season 30 will feature six weeks of Live Shows. The extended live portion has excited fans, especially after viewers complained about the shorter season and heavily edited episodes in the previous year.

Fans shared their reactions on Reddit, with one calling the announcement “Great News!” and saying the previous season had left them feeling cheated. Another celebrated the update with an enthusiastic “Let’s f**king go!” A third said they were interested to see how the new format would work, even though they were less excited about live voting.

The Voice' Season 30 Facing Major Scheduling & Voting Changes

The combination of a Monday-only schedule, Cut Week and same-night voting marks a major shift for The Voice. With six weeks of live performances ahead, viewers will have plenty of opportunities to watch their favorite singers compete and influence the results.

Season 30 continues Monday, October 19, on NBC. As the competition moves forward, fans will see how the new schedule and voting system affect the race for the title.
