Prince William could make changes to how the Royal Family is structured when he eventually becomes king, according to royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams.
Speaking to The Express, Fitzwilliams suggested that William could seek to reduce the size of the monarchy during his future reign. He said the possibility could affect six members of the royal family: Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, as well as Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.
Fitzwilliams linked the speculation about Harry and Meghan to the long-running tension between Harry and William. He noted that the brothers have reportedly remained distant for several years.

“As long as the rift with William persists,” Fitzwilliams said, discussing the possibility of changes under a future king.
He went on to suggest that William could take steps to create a smaller working monarchy once he takes the throne.
“There remains the possibility that when he becomes King,” Fitzwilliams said, William could “reduce the size of the Royal Family.”

Six royals could reportedly be affected
According to Fitzwilliams, Harry, Meghan, Archie, Lilibet, Beatrice, and Eugenie could potentially lose their royal titles under a future arrangement.
“They and their children and Beatrice and Eugenie could lose their titles,” he claimed.

Fitzwilliams also discussed what such a change could mean for the royals’ public profiles. While he suggested that losing their titles could reduce their appeal, he did not suggest that it would automatically remove them from public life.
“This would reduce their appeal,” he said, while noting that their public profile could continue.
The comments come as Harry and Meghan remain a major focus of royal coverage, with their recent return to the UK once again drawing attention to their relationship with other members of the Royal Family.

The wider discussion also comes amid renewed attention surrounding Earl Spencer, Princess Diana’s brother, and his new book about his sister. His recent comments about Harry and Meghan have added to ongoing media coverage surrounding the Sussexes and the wider royal family.
For now, however, there has been no confirmed announcement that William plans to remove these titles. King Charles remains monarch, and any future decisions about the structure or titles of the Royal Family would depend on circumstances at the time William becomes king.
