Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly been spending more time in the UK with their children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, as they explore the possibility of staying longer and have reportedly been looking for a home in the Cotswolds.

Now, photos from a recent visit by Meghan’s longtime friend Kelly McKee Zajfen have sparked a new wave of online criticism. The pictures showed Meghan, Harry, and their children spending time with Kelly’s young son, Jack.

While Kelly shared the images as part of a personal post about her UK trip, some social media users questioned why the photos showed her child while Harry and Meghan have generally kept their own children’s faces private.

Meghan’s longtime friend shares a glimpse of her UK trip

Kelly McKee Zajfen is an American entrepreneur and philanthropist who co-founded Alliance of Moms, a nonprofit supporting pregnant and parenting teens in the Los Angeles foster care system.

Kelly has said she has known Meghan for nearly 20 years. In a 2025 Instagram Q&A, she described the Duchess as a “nurturing, fun, loving human” and said Meghan had attended her wedding to entertainment lawyer Julian Zajfen.

The couple have three children, including their daughter Lily and son Jack. Their other son, George, died in 2022 after a coronavirus infection and viral meningitis.

Kelly recently traveled to the UK with Jack to visit Meghan and Harry. After the trip, she shared several photos on Instagram, along with a heartfelt message about spending time with her longtime friend.

“There’s something so special about getting a taste of this magical place with my bestie,” she wrote, adding that the trip gave her and Jack the chance to experience “so many little firsts.”

The post included photos of Kelly and Jack, food from the trip, a sunflower, deer, and a backyard gathering with Meghan and longtime friend Markus Anderson.

Among the pictures were several moments involving Harry, Meghan, and their family.

Photos of Harry and Meghan with Jack spark criticism

One photo showed Meghan holding Jack on her lap, while another showed Harry lying on the floor and playing with the child. A third showed Princess Lilibet spending time with Jack, with her back facing the camera.

The images quickly drew negative comments from some users.

One person wrote, “Poor baby looks freaked out to be in the arms of that ghoul,” while another criticized the way Meghan was holding the child and claimed she appeared uncomfortable.

Other commenters focused on the fact that Jack’s face was visible in the photos, while Archie and Lilibet have largely remained out of the public eye.

“Exploiting someone else’s child once more,” one commenter wrote.

Another added, “So it’s okay for them to show pictures with other people’s children.”

Some users also accused Meghan of using the photos to attract attention online. Those claims were presented by commenters, however, and there was no evidence in Kelly’s post that Meghan had arranged for the images to be shared.

Others pointed out that Kelly herself posted the photos on her own Instagram account.

Meghan and Kelly reconnected after a difficult loss

Meghan and Kelly first met through their husbands. Kelly’s husband, Julian, was friends with Meghan’s former husband, Trevor Engelson.

Although Kelly was not present at Meghan and Harry’s 2018 wedding, the two had reportedly lost touch before the ceremony. They later reconnected in 2022 after Kelly’s son George died.

Kelly later spoke warmly about Meghan’s support during that difficult period.

“The second I heard her voice, it felt like I was right back with her,” Kelly said in a 2025 Harper’s Bazaar feature.

She also appeared on Meghan’s Netflix series, With Love, Meghan.

In March 2026, Kelly told Hello! that Meghan had remained close to her family following George’s death and said it was “a real privilege” to watch Meghan raise her own children.

“She’s been a part of my journey with the loss of my son, and she hasn’t left my side since,” Kelly said. “It’s a beautiful friendship, and I’m really grateful to have her.”

The friendship has also drawn attention because Meghan’s relationship with another longtime friend, Jessica Mulroney, reportedly became more distant in the years following Meghan’s royal wedding.

For now, the latest discussion surrounding Meghan and Harry centers on Kelly’s UK visit and the photos she chose to share. While many commenters criticized the Sussexes, others noted that the pictures came from Kelly’s personal social media account and appeared to document a private family visit.
