Adam Levine has fans talking after choosing a Tucker Wetmore hit for his team’s Battle Round on The Voice Season 30, putting Riley Green in an awkward position amid ongoing speculation about the country star’s personal life.

The drama unfolded when Team Adam singers Evan James and Luke Curran faced off with Wetmore’s 2024 hit Wind Up Missin’ You. The song choice quickly caught viewers’ attention because of the rumored connections between Green, Wetmore and several names in country music.

Green, who is coaching on The Voice for the first time this season, has found himself at the center of online dating rumors involving country singers Megan Moroney and Ella Langley. The show has even played into the speculation, previously using a Moroney song after a contestant chose Kelly Clarkson’s team over Green.
Earlier this week, Green also faced criticism online after viewers interpreted one of his comments as taking credit for Langley’s success. Langley appeared to respond during an Instagram Live, saying, “Didn’t love that but typical.”

The Tucker Wetmore connection added another layer to the ongoing chatter. Wetmore previously dated influencer Bryanna Ferringer for nearly a year before their reported split in 2025. Green later appeared with Ferringer at the CMA Awards, sparking surprise among fans. Langley has also been linked romantically to Wetmore, further fueling online speculation about the connections between the country stars.
With that background, Levine’s decision to have his contestants perform Wetmore’s song did not go unnoticed. Some viewers called the coach “messy,” while others focused on the singers’ impressive performance.
James and Curran delivered a strong rendition of Wind Up Missin’ You, earning praise from viewers who compared their sound to young versions of Hunter Hayes and Charlie Puth. Their distinct voices made the Battle a close contest, but Levine ultimately chose James as the winner, sending Curran home.

The decision did not sit well with everyone. Some fans questioned Levine’s choice, arguing that Curran also deserved to advance. Others believed the two singers had enough chemistry to pursue a musical partnership outside the competition.
Green, meanwhile, praised both performers despite losing the chance to add either singer to his team. Levine then delivered another pointed joke at his fellow coach, saying, “Something they both have in common is that neither one of them picked you.”
The comment appeared to leave Green less amused than some of Levine’s earlier jokes, giving viewers another memorable moment from the Battle Round.
The third round of The Voice Battles is scheduled to continue Monday, October 19, on NBC. With the season already generating plenty of online discussion about the coaches and their country music connections, fans may be waiting to see whether another song choice adds fuel to the drama.
