The pair’s new film centers on Egerton playing a young TSA agent who gets blackmailed by a mysterious traveler to let a dangerous package slip through security and onto a Christmas Day flight.
Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra – who has helmed hits such as The Shallows, Unknown, Jungle Cruise and the just-released Black Adam – Carry On promises to be a hot property for Netflix when it is released on the streamer.
No official release date has been announced, but production is currently scheduled to wrap filming in New Orleans and Cleveland by December 16, according to Production Weekly issue 1309.

The Welsh actor – who made Britney Spears starstruck back in July – earned numerous nominations for inhabiting the role of the iconic British hitmaker.
Egerton won a Golden Globe Award and was widely considered to be in the running for an Oscar nomination.
The film racked up nearly $200 million at the worldwide box office and cemented its star as a reliable leading man.
More praise was bestowed on Egerton over the summer as his crime drama miniseries Black Bird premiered on Apple TV+ in July, receiving stellar reviews and a 97% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Egerton will soon return to Apple TV+ in an upcoming biographical film called Tetris, which follows the true high-stakes legal battle surrounding the intellectual property rights to the titular video game.
Taron’s Carry On costar Sofia Carson hails from the House of Mouse as she has previously starred in the Disney Channel’s Descendants franchise.
The musical film series is centered around the descendants of Disney’s greatest villains and Carson’s career took off after playing the daughter of Snow White’s Evil Queen.
The multi-hyphenate star released her eponymous debut album this year and starred in the controversial Netflix romance Purple Hearts over the summer.
While not a hit with the critics, Purple Hearts did secure the top spot on Netflix on its first day of release. As of September, the film has logged 228.6 million hours watched to become a bonafide hit for the streamer, according to Netflix.
Netflix subscribers will have to wait and see if Carry On will rocket Sofia into the A-list like Rocketman did for her costar.
