Anyone familiar with the promotion surrounding Russell Tovey’s latest film The Pass will know that the actor spends much of the movie in little more than his underwear while portraying a professional footballer grappling with his sexuality.
Then again, longtime fans of Tovey’s work are unlikely to be surprised. The actor has never appeared particularly shy about stripping down for a role. And for anyone wondering whether movie magic, clever camera angles, or wardrobe tricks played a part in enhancing his appearance on screen, Tovey has a straightforward answer.
Speaking to Metro, he joked: “It’s all Tovey time. That’s all my fruit and veg down there,” making it clear that what viewers see is entirely natural.
The lighthearted comment quickly caught fans’ attention and added another talking point to the buzz surrounding the film. Following the actor’s candid admission, many viewers have found themselves taking a second look at some of The Pass‘s most memorable scenes.
The Pass arrives in cinemas on December 9. Fans can also learn more about the film through Attitude’s interview with Tovey’s co-star, Arinzé Kene, featured in the magazine’s January issue.
