Cole Hauser is dispelling some rumors about his future in the Yellowstone universe — and it’s not necessarily what fans would expect.
Fans of the series are aware the actor portrayed rancher Rip Wheeler throughout the duration of the show. Shortly before Yellowstone ended after five seasons in December 2024, folks learned that Cole and his co-star Kelly Reilly (who portrayed his wife Beth Dutton) would reprise their roles for an upcoming spinoff on the Paramount Network.
While details of what fans can expect about the Yellowstone spinoff are being kept under wraps, Bloomberg revealed in April 2025 the show’s tentative title was Dutton Ranch. But when Cole was asked about his new project in an interview with Fox News Digital on May 20, he quickly shut down that name.
“Well, first of all, it’s not Dutton Ranch,” he honestly told the outlet. “That’s not the name of it.”

Well, this is certainly surprising news! And even though the series is currently in the works without a title, Cole is not too concerned about that. Instead, he told the publication he’s just excited about continuing both Rip and Beth’s stories.
“We can expect the same that we’ve been doing for the last seven years,” Cole added. “Kelly and I are going and working our a—- off trying to create something special.”

Given how fans loved seeing Rip and Beth’s love story play out on Yellowstone, we’re interested in seeing how their romance will evolve in a new series.
Speaking of Yellowstone spinoffs, it’s important to note Cole and Kelly aren’t the only ones coming back to the TV universe. Fans learned in early May 2025 that Luke Grimes (who portrayed Kayce Dutton) is set to have his own spinoff that’ll air on CBS in the winter of 2026. Titled Y: Marshals, this series will see Kayce become a member of an elite U.S. Marshals unit. Per The Hollywood Reporter, Kayce will “combine his skills as a cowboy and Navy SEAL to bring range justice to Montana.”
Looks like we have a lot to be excited for in the world of Yellowstone!
