Outlander actor Sam Heughan has teased the upcoming season 7, part 2, stating that it has one of his favourite finales.
Later this week, the latest ‘Droughtlander’ will be over, as Jamie and Claire Fraser return to our screens for more romance, drama, and, of course, plenty of fight scenes.
Appearing on last night’s (November 19) The One Show, Jamie actor Sam said: “There’s a lot of returning characters, a lot of characters that fans will love to hate to see, and then there’s some big drama. I think Jamie and Claire really face one of the biggest tests of their relationship for many seasons.
“And then the finale as well, which is probably, I think, one of my favourite finales, it’s really dramatic. So much to look forward to in a short time, a couple of days!”
Claire actor Caitriona Balfe added that production is “tough”, stating: “We film outside, in the hail, rain, or shine.”
“When you’re filming through January in Scotland, you’ve got short days ’cause of the daylight but also the rain and the wind and the snow, it’s pretty tough,” Sam concurred.
The duo also talked about how they’ve already filmed all of the eighth and final season, and explained that it was an emotional affair for multiple reasons.
Earlier this year, the author of the Outlander books, Diana Gabaldon, revealed that the TV series will have a different ending due to the combination of only having one shorter season to adapt the final three books (one of which is still unpublished).
“I think people will be OK with it, but it won’t resemble much of Book 10. Only because there isn’t room,” she said.
