Outlander star Sam Heughan has revealed his celebrity crushes and how he eventually got to work alongside one of them.
The Scots actor sat down with Entertainment Weekly to share his ‘pop culture favourites’ where he made the admission on two of his celebrity crushes and they are both very different from each other.
He said: “My first celebrity crush was a cartoon – Jessica Rabbit.”
He grinned, adding: “However, a very very close second was Gillian Anderson in X-Files and I got to work with the wonderful Gillian Anderson many years later.”
And fans were surprised by his crushes. One penned: “Ooh so your first celeb crushes were two redheads.”
Another said: “Gillian was also my celebrity crush as a teen.”
While one added: “Didn’t we all at one point have a big crush on Gillian as Scully in X Files?”
Another said: “So, he likes redheads apparently.”
One commented: “I certainly understand Gillian Anderson.”
While one joked: “It’s time to colour our hair red, ladies!!!”
Sam starred alongside Gillian in the 2018 movie, The Spy Who Dumped Me. Sam and Gillian appeared in the cast alongside Mila Kunis, Justin Theroux and Kate McKinnon.
Gillian rose to fame in the X-Files as FBI Agent Dana Scully and has gone on to appear in various other shows and films such as The Crown, The Fall, Scoop and Sex Education.
Despite being born in Chicago, Illinois and growing up in London, Gillian has always had a soft spot for Scotland, having visited various times and always made a point of gushing over the country.
The star first visited Scotland as a child, but in the 90s returned, taking a trip to Glasgow to officially open a charity shop with a cause very close to her heart.
She visited Mount Florida in the city’s southside in 1999, where she ‘cut the ribbon’ to help celebrate the launch of the Neurofibromatosis.
