Outlander Fans Think They’ve Spotted a Major Time Travel Clue in Blood of My Blood Trailer

Eagle-eyed Outlander fans may have spotted a possible clue in the teaser trailer for Outlander: Blood of My Blood, suggesting time travel occurs.

Taking to Instagram, user @Doreensplace2 posted a theory after she spotted a key detail.

The teaser trailer, released earlier this year, featured shots of Claire Fraser’s (played by Caitríona Balfe) parents kissing a letter they’d presumably exchanged.

One shot showed Henry Beauchamp (Jeremy Irvine) in uniform, perhaps from the trenches, kissing a letter he may have written to his beloved Julia Moriston (Hermione Corfield).

The next shot showed Julia doing the same, however, she appeared to be wearing a 17th century night shift and a shawl similar to ones Claire has donned in Outlander.

The user compared the image with another one featuring Julia and Henry standing together in London and wearing early 20th century clothes.

She said: “Look at this picture, look at her clothes as opposed to her clothes here. You’re going to tell me she hasn’t gone back in time?”

Under the video on Instagram, one person responded: “Omg yes !!! I saw the change of time in her clothes and the letter …the show is promising..can’t wait for summer [sic].”

Another person said: “I’ve always had the feeling it was her dad that was a time traveler, but maybe it’s both also we need more uncle lamb history, there is definitely more there, his connection to Frank, which if I remember correctly is how Frank and Claire met, Frank knew uncle lamb and visited him to get research information and met an 18-19 year old Claire [sic].”

A third echoed these sentiments: “I don’t see how there time travel would not be involved in this series [sic].”

Other commented on this theory on Reddit as one person posted: “I commented this exact theory about a year ago and someone here called me ‘delusional’.”

Someone else said: “Same. And I have been saying it for years, like since I read the first books in the late 90s.

“I think maybe Claire travelled as a child too! She says she remembered the feeling of a car accident she was in as a child and how similar travelling through the stones felt.

“That was the car accident her parents were said to die in, and she doesn’t really remember them.”

Another Redditor added: “I’d never thought that maybe Clare time travelled before she could remember. I wondered whether her parents went time travelling and her uncle just said they died in an accident.”

However, others weren’t sure, as one person posted on Reddit: “No, that’s a normal blouse for the World War I era and a generic dark room.”

A second commented: “At least one of them must have had the time traveling gene for her to inherit it, but that doesn’t mean either of them ever went through the stones.”

The 10-part drama will premiere on August 8 on Starz and August 9 on MGM+ via Prime Video.

Outlander: Blood of My Blood will concentrate on the love stories of Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire’s respective parents, with one tale set during World War I and the other in the Scottish Highlands during the 17th century.

Outlander fans are hoping the series will fill in some of the gaps, including how Julia and Henry really died and if there’s a possible link to the season seven cliffhanger involving Faith.
