Meghan Markle has proven she can handle criticism with charm and humor, responding to concerns about her new Netflix show with a personal touch. The Duchess of Sussex surprised podcast host Amanda Hirsch with a handwritten note, demonstrating both her confidence and her ability to engage with fans in an unexpected way
Hirsch, known for her podcast Not Skinny But Not Fat, had previously expressed apprehension about the reception of With Love, Meghan, Markle’s lifestyle-focused Netflix series that premiered on March 4.
Given the public scrutiny Meghan often faces, Hirsch voiced her concerns in a comment under the show’s trailer on Instagram: “You guys, I’m scared for Meghan.”
Rather than ignoring the remark, Meghan took the opportunity to respond in a personal and uplifting manner.
A personal response that made an impact
Hirsch shared her shock and excitement when she received an official letter from Meghan Markle. The handwritten note reassured her in the most Meghan way possible.
“Dear Amanda, I heard you were feeling scared. Don’t be! This is the fun part-let’s enjoy it,” Meghan wrote.
Hirsch, clearly taken aback by the personal response, shared a screenshot of her original comment along with Meghan’s note in an Instagram post. Her caption read: “OH MY DUCHESS.”
Elaborating in her Instagram Stories, Hirsch explained that her initial comment wasn’t meant as criticism but rather a reflection of the unnecessary negativity Meghan often faces.
She admitted that she feared the backlash that would follow the Duchess‘ latest project, simply because many critics seem determined to find fault with her.
“Like, obviously framing this,” she wrote in her Stories. “Beyond shook. Beyond spiraling. Did I smell the paper? Yes! Do I want my own monogram? Yes. Am I absolutely flabbergasted and obsessed? F—. YES.”
