In Meghan Markle‘s Netflix series “With Love, Meghan,” the Duchess of Sussex bakes treats, plans parties, hosts brunches and shows viewers how to spruce up their lives at home.
However, unlike many lifestyle programs, “With Love” does not film inside Meghan’s actual house. Rather, the show takes place in a nearby farmhouse in Montecito, Calif., owned by Meghan and Harry’s neighbors, Tom and Sherrie Cipolla.
Meghan addressed the reason why she chose not to film inside her own home at the Time100 Summit in New York, during a conversation with Time CEO Jessica Sibley.
“When people say, ‘Why didn’t you [film in] your house?’ Well, I have kids coming home for their nap, and 80 people in the kitchen isn’t really the childhood memory I’d want for them to have,” Meghan said, referencing the series’ large crew. She and Prince Harry share two children, Archie (aged 5) and Lilibet (aged 3).
“We were really fortunate to find something close by,” Meghan said, adding that drawing the boundary for her family is “how I take care of myself.”
“With Love, Meghan” has been renewed for a second season at Netflix. The next installment has already been filmed and will premiere sometime in the fall. At the Time100 Summit, Meghan revealed that celebrity chef and World Central Kitchen founder José Andrés will make an appearance in Season 2. In January, Meghan and Harry joined Andrés in handing out food and supplies to victims of the Los Angeles wildfires.
Season 1 guests included Mindy Kaling, Roy Choi, Delfina Blaquier and Abigail Spencer, among others.
