Luke Grimes Confirms Yellowstone Sequel With Duttons Set for Dramatic Comeback: ‘Cowboys Never Say Goodbye’

It’s official Yellowstone fans, the Duttons are back!

Yellowstone star Luke Grimes has announced he will be making a return to hit Western drama as a sequel series is in the works.

Reported on Deadline this week, the CBS Network has officially ordered the Yellowstone sequel under the working title Y: Marshals.

Continuing creator Taylor Sheridan’s universe, the new drama will star Grimes as he reprises his role of youngest Dutton son, Kayce Dutton.

Taking to Instagram, Luke Grimes confirmed the news.

“Cowboys don’t say goodbye, they say see you later,” he wrote sharing the announcement.

It’s reported Kayce Dutton will join an elite unit of U.S. Marshals in the new series, where he will combine his skills as a cowboy and military background to bring justice to Montana range.

Despite putting the Dutton Ranch behind him, Kayce will grapple with family, loyalty and duty – all themes set to be explored in the sequel series.

Some fans are hoping for flashbacks to Kayce’s military training days.

Details of the supporting cast and release date are yet to be confirmed.

The news comes after fans begged for a spin-off series headlined by co-stars Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser.

Grimes’ latest post proves that when it comes to the world of Sheridan, anything could happen.

Fans and co-stars were ecstatic about the Kayce spin-off, with Dave Annable (who played Lee Dutton in the series) commenting:” GO BRO!!!!! This is great news!! 🤠.”

“So hyped for this! Kayce was one of my favorite characters,” said one fan.

“YESSSS!!! Let’s go!” wrote actor Todd Lasance, while another added: “We’re so back!!!!!!”

Yellowstone‘s explosive finale saw the end of the Dutton Ranch. In an effort to protect the land and his family legacy, Kayce Dutton sold the ranch to Thomas Rainwater for $1.25 an acre, the same price his ancestors paid when they settled there.

That was, under two conditions: Kayce keeps East Camp for his family, and secondly, Rainwater could never develop on Yellowstone land.

“We’re free now,” Kayce held back tears while holding Monica in his arms.

We can’t wait for this new chapter to begin!

The only place you can stream every episode of Yellowstone is on Stan.
