“Get Your Tissues Ready…” The Off Campus Creator Just Teased Season 2 Will Bring “Lots of Tears”

Off Campus' Season 2: Cast, Release Date, and More Updates

Off Campus creator Louisa Levy hinted that season 2 will leave viewers emotional as book fans await a potential onscreen death.

Levy teased the next season at Obsessed Fest on Saturday, June 27, where she mentioned there would be “lots of tears” in store for the audience. While Levy didn’t specify, fans of Elle Kennedy‘s book series know that (spoiler alert!) a loved one of Dean’s (Stephen Kalyn) doesn’t survive.

Off Campus follows an elite ice hockey team — and the women in their lives — as they “grapple with love, heartbreak, and self-discovery — forging deep friendships and enduring bonds while navigating the complexities that come with transitioning into adulthood,” per the show’s official synopsis.

Season 1, which premiered in May, was centered on Hannah (Ella Bright) and Garrett’s (Belmont Cameli) love story.

Going by Kennedy’s book order, Logan’s (Antonio Cipriano) story was expected to be next, followed by Dean’s (Kalyn) and Tucker’s (Jalen Thomas Brooks). News broke, however, that Dean and Allie (Mika Abdalla) would be leading season 2 in a surprising shakeup.

“Even though we do tease Dean and Allie a lot earlier than people expect, you are still left wanting a lot more,” Abdalla exclusively told Us Weekly in May. “And that’s something I’m really excited about. You just want to see more.”

Abdalla explained that the show wanted to “stay true to a lot” of Allie and Dean’s love story.

“Allie and Hannah’s story lines are so connected to one another that it just made a lot of sense to touch on that this season,” she said about the extended focus on Allie and Dean throughout season 1. “All the books, they build off of each other and they’re all connected. It didn’t really make sense to not include certain elements from the other books in this season.”

Before Prime Video announced the season 2 leads, Bright, 19, and Cameli, 28, revealed if they planned to return in future seasons.

“I totally understand your concern,” Cameli exclusively told Us about each season being focused on a different couple. “We will be along for the ride the whole time.”

Bright confirmed the plan is for them to be “sticking” around, with Cameli adding, “We’re excited to see what season 2 holds for [us].”

The duo gushed over their strong offscreen bond.

“Doing a job like this would be so miserable if you didn’t like your costar,” Cameli shared. “We are so lucky. Ella and I are really, really good friends. We get along so well and we spend a ton of time together on set.”

Bright was just as grateful to have Cameli as her partner in crime on camera.

“Honestly, we just have so much fun. It’s so cool to be able to go on this journey with everybody who just cares so much about this show and these characters,” she gushed to Us. “Everyone is here for the same reason. It definitely loosens the pressure a lot, because you’re sharing it with all these really great and talented people.”

Off Campus is streaming on Prime Video now.
