Viewers of And Just Like That were left disappointed as the third episode of Season 3 aired.
The instalment – titled Carrie Golightly – saw Carrie heading to Virginia for a literary convention accompanied by Seema. While there, Carrie wanted to surprise Aidan with a casual lunch. However, viewers were not thrilled by the plot branding the episode “awful.”
The episode kicked off with Carrie on a video call with Amanda who tells her she has speaking offers from Google and SXSW – but it’s a memoirist panel in Williamsburg, Virginia, that sparks her interest. Naturally, with the location bringing her closer to Aiden.
She heads to Virginia with Seema joining her last minute after her boss sold the company she was supposed to take over to Serhant.
Elsewhere, Charlotte heads out to some clubs to show she’s hip enough to sell her artwork, with her husband Harry joining her in some trendy new clothes he bought with help from with Carrie. But the fashionable items cause a mishap when he can’t undo his button fly jeans in time and pees his pants in the club.
Charlotte then heads to the afterparty without him and the rich Dutch man she was trying to sell paintings to tries to kiss her. Miranda goes on a date with the producer she likes, as Carrie discovers her drivers license expired years ago and Seema drives but ruins their rental car.
Aidan, meanwhile, makes things awkward with Carrie when he reluctantly asks her to stay – in the guest house so she doesn’t cause any awkwardness with his children. At the end of the episode Carrie is seen sitting on the bed in the guest house, working on her new book, much to the dismay of fans.
One viewer wrote on X, “I have a hard time believing anyone is enjoying this Aidan storyline. #AndJustLikeThat.” A second said, “I’m just watching to watch but don’t know what I’m supposed to be watching. It’s not giving me anything. #andjustlikethat.”
A third quipped, “#AndJustLikeThat season 3 has to be some sort of soft launch for shows written completely by AI.” A fourth posted: “#AndJustLikeThat is just awful. I keep tuning in but I’m left disappointed.”
A fifth highlighted some lacking plot points sharing: “Carrie forgets her driver’s license expired 7 years ago. Seema wrecks a rental car and loses luggage. Miranda gets breathing lessons. Harry pisses himself. Charlotte and Aidan are insufferably stupid in general,” they then added a GIF that read, “Why is everyone so f—— stupid?”
