Paul Poirier and Piper Gilles sure know how to work.
The 2026 Winter Olympics had an extra pinch of spice on the ice Friday, after the Canadian figure skating duo performed a campy routine to a mix of RuPaul’s “Supermodel (You Better Work)” and Right Said Fred’s “I’m Too Sexy.”
Gilles and Poirier, who is gay, skated in the rhythm dance competition at the Milano Cortina Games for a fun and campy performance set to the classic queer songs.
The pair, who have won silver medals at the past two world championships, earned a season-best score of 85.79. Their score helped Canada to fifth place in the current figure skating team event.
This is Gilles and Poirier’s third consecutive Olympics. They finished eighth in PyeongChang in 2018 and seventh in Beijing in 2022.
“It’s our season’s best so far,” Gilles said of their performance this year, per TSN. “I think we’ll be continuing to push a little bit more going into the individual, but again, we’re very, very pleased with what we put down today.”
Their 2026 performance marked a proud start to the Winter Olympics, which also celebrated an opening ceremony headlined by Mariah Carey, among other queer highlights.
