1923 star Brandon Sklenar has shared some interesting details about his time on set filming the Yellowstone prequel series. Sklenar stars as Spencer Dutton opposite Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren in 1923, the Western series created for TV by Taylor Sheridan. The show recently wrapped up its second and final season on Paramount+, and for now, the story of the Duttons has come to a halt. The first season of 1923 aired near the end of 2022, and Sklenar has spent the better part of the last three years in the shoes of Spencer Dutton. During a recent interview with People Magazine, he revealed some things he took as souvenirs from the set that he’ll keep with him forever. You can read his full comments below:
1923’s Brandon Sklenar has blossomed into a star, largely thanks to his role in the Yellowstone prequel series. He also isn’t the only one to use his role in a Taylor Sheridan-created series to advance his career, but Sheridan isn’t quick to accept the credit for that from his stars. Before he ever suited up as Spencer Dutton, Sklenar was known for his roles in Vice (Christian Bale) and Midway (Woody Harrelson), and he even played famous actor Burt Reynolds in The Offer. 2024 was a big year for Sklenar, who featured opposite Blake Lively in It Ends with Us, the romantic adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s novel that has sparked a lawsuit between Lively and director/star Justin Baldoni. Sklenar has also thrown his name in the ring along with other stars like Alan Ritchson and Jensen Ackles as being interested in the role of Batman for James Gunn’s DCU.
When Is the Next Taylor Sheridan Project Coming?

The biggest Sheridan project to come out of 2024 was Landman, the dramatic series led by Billy Bob Thornton that also stars Ali Larter and Jon Hamm. Landman produced record viewership for Paramount+ on its way to becoming the biggest new series ever for the streamer. Landman was renewed for Season 2 a few months ago, and it recently kicked off production in Fort Worth, having enough of an effect to alter the entire economy of the city. Sheridan also has other projects in the works, such as The Madison, 1944, and a currently untitled Yellowstone spin-off focused on Beth and Rip.
