House of Guinness’ Anthony Boyle has opened up about filming the fully frontal moment during that bath scene in Netflix’s new series.
The actor, 31, stars as the eldest Guinness brother Arthur in Netflix’s new historical drama House of Guinness, which follows the lives of the four Guinness siblings following the death of their father.
After their father’s death, Arthur and his brother Edward are put in charge of the Guinness factory and fortune, and as part of this Edward suggests the pair set to arranging marriages for themselves.
And during episode three, Arthur debates his future prospects and one particular bride while smoking and having a bath. His butler enters the room to get him dressed and during this the pair have a conversation about Arthur’s bride. However, many viewers were distracted by Arthur standing fully frontal nude when exiting the bath to hear about his thoughts on his future wife.
One person on X wrote: “enjoying House of Guinness and then being blindsided by the bathtub scene.” While another said: “House of Guinness! Historical Drama on Netflix E3 copper bath scene b***dy f***ing hell!!! what? Is that even real????”
And now Anthony Boyle has opened up about the filming of that scene, revealing the moment didn’t bother him, but he did have one worry when it came to the release of the episode.
Speaking to Town & Country, Anthony was asked if he considers the large audience of Netflix intimidating, to which he responded: “Yeah, definitely when I did the naked scene [laughs]. Definitely when I did that, I was sat in that bath and I was like, ‘Oh wait, it’s gonna be like millions of people.'”
Anthony then added he was worried about one certain family member seeing the episode, saying: “My focus is usually on the other person, less so than what I’m experiencing, but on the day that you’re getting naked, you’re like, ‘Oh god, I hope my f***ing granny doesn’t see this!’ Moments like that happen! But for the most part, I don’t think about the reach of the show, no.”
Well the historical drama is currently number on Netflix in the UK, so a lot of people have seen that bath scene 👀.
