Brandon Sklenar might be a hunky Hollywood actor now, but he was once an awkward pre-teen like anybody else.
The 1923 actor recently appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show, where he reluctantly recalled the embarrassing story of his very first date.
Chatting with Clarkson, 42, during the Friday, April 11 episode of her eponymous talk show, Sklenar, 34, opened up about his first-ever date, which happened when he was around the age of 12 and included supervision from his dad.
“My dad took me to the movies to see a movie with a girl,” he explained, noting that he was seeing The Mummy at the time.
“We’re just sitting in the back seat of his Jeep Cherokee and it was really quiet,” Sklenar said while physically cringing. “It was really awkward obviously.”
But it eventually got even worse.
“And it was just silent and we’re just driving silently and I was just sweating,” he continued, adding, “I’m like, ‘I don’t know what to say.'”
“And I was like, ‘So like, um, what shoe size are you?'” the It Ends With Us actor recalled, sending the audience into a fit of laughter.
“And my dad just bursted out laughing in the front seat of the car,” Sklenar added.
“Talk about a rough first date!” the Kelly Clarkson Show Instagram caption read.
