Netflix’s acclaimed Canadian comedy North of North is officially returning for Season 2, and production has now wrapped. While Netflix has yet to announce an exact premiere date, fans in Canada already have a date to look forward to as the series prepares to return to CBC.

The series was renewed for a second season following its arrival on Netflix in April 2025. Star Anna Lambe, who plays Siaja, previously celebrated the renewal, expressing her excitement about returning to the fictional Arctic community of Ice Cove.
Although Netflix has not confirmed a specific release date, Season 2 is expected to premiere on the streaming platform sometime in 2026. CBC’s official listings currently indicate that new episodes will begin airing in Canada on Tuesday, September 8.

However, Canadian viewers may get to watch the new season before Netflix subscribers elsewhere. Season 1 first premiered on CBC in January 2025 before arriving on Netflix in April, meaning a similar release gap could potentially occur for Season 2. Netflix has yet to confirm whether it will follow the same schedule this time around.
Anna Lambe will return as Siaja, alongside Maika Harper, Braeden Clarke, Jay Ryan, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Zorga Qaunaq, Bailey Poching, Nutaaq Doreen Simmonds, and Kiera Cooper. The new season will continue following Siaja as she navigates life as a young Inuk mother while attempting to build a new future for herself in the small Arctic community of Ice Cove.

Season 2 will pick up after the major developments of the first season. Siaja has publicly left her marriage and begun creating a new life, while also confronting complicated family revelations. She meets her father, Alistair, learns from her mother Neevee that she has a sister somewhere in the world, and develops a connection with Kuuk despite his existing relationship.
Created by Stacey Aglok MacDonald and Alethea Arnaquq-Baril, North of North is executive produced by the creators alongside Miranda de Pencier, Anya Adams, Susan Coyne, and Garry Campbell. The series also holds a notable place in Netflix history as the streamer’s first series commissioned from Canada.
With filming now complete and CBC’s September premiere date on the calendar, fans are getting closer to Siaja’s return. Netflix’s official international release date remains the biggest piece of the puzzle, but it appears that North of North Season 2 will be back on screens before the end of 2026.
