Robby is back at the Pittsburgh hospital, but his return to the emergency department may not be as smooth as he hoped. The first trailer for The Pitt Season 3 gives fans a glimpse of another intense shift, while new photos tease complicated relationships, familiar faces and plenty of challenges ahead.

Played by Noah Wyle, Robby returns to work after taking a much-needed break. In the trailer, he acknowledges that his first day back could be difficult, but he appears ready to return to the demanding environment of the emergency department.
Not everyone is convinced that Robby will actually make it back. When Shen mentions that Robby’s name is on the schedule, Abbot, played by Shawn Hatosy, responds skeptically, saying he will believe it when he sees it. The moment suggests that Robby’s absence may have left some uncertainty among his colleagues.
Once Robby does return, however, the atmosphere appears far from comfortable. His interactions with Dana are tense, while his reunion with Langdon also seems complicated. Langdon, played by Patrick Ball, looks noticeably worn down as he welcomes Robby back, hinting that the events of the previous season continue to weigh on him.
The new season will once again follow the hospital staff through a single shift in real time. Each season of The Pitt consists of 15 one-hour episodes, allowing the series to focus closely on the pressures faced by healthcare workers and the patients they treat.
Season 3 will also introduce viewers to a number of new situations and familiar faces. The trailer teases several patients requiring urgent medical attention, while the newly released photos show Robby working alongside colleagues including Langdon, Dr. King, Dr. Santos and Dr. Whitaker.

Meanwhile, several relationships appear to remain unresolved. Photos featuring Robby and Dr. Al-Hashimi suggest that the two still have things to discuss after not leaving their previous interactions on the best terms. Elsewhere, Dr. King appears to be dealing with the aftermath of her second deposition, adding another layer of pressure to the upcoming season.
Javadi, played by Shabana Azeez, has also left the emergency department this season, while the cast includes new and returning performers such as Pruitt Taylor Vince, Fiona Dourif, Taylor Dearden, Isa Briones and Gerran Howell.

With Robby back in the ED, Abbot appears ready to keep a close eye on him. Whether that skepticism turns into conflict—or simply reflects concerns about Robby’s return—could become one of the season’s more interesting dynamics.
For now, the trailer makes one thing clear: Robby may have taken a break, but the chaos of the Pitt is waiting for him.
