LOS ANGELES — Actress Aubrey Plaza has given fans a rare glimpse into her pregnancy, sharing a new photo of her growing baby bump as she prepares to welcome her first child with partner Christopher Abbott.

On July 25, Plaza posted a mirror selfie to her Instagram Stories, lifting her black tank top to reveal her bare baby bump. Dressed in black jeans left unbuttoned for comfort, the actress appeared to be in the final stages of her pregnancy, although she has not publicly revealed her due date.
The 42-year-old also shared another photo documenting preparations for the baby’s arrival. The image showed Enelio Ortega, CEO of Bambi Baby, helping the couple assemble a luxury stroller. Plaza expressed her appreciation in the caption, writing, “Muchas gracias Enelio @bambibabystore for teaching us something.”
Plaza first confirmed her pregnancy publicly in April after she was photographed showing her baby bump while walking her dog in New York City. Shortly afterward, she spoke about the experience during an appearance on the SmartLess podcast, revealing that she had just undergone an ultrasound appointment.

“Well, there’s a baby inside of me,” Plaza said, joking that both she and her dog had received ultrasounds on the same day.
The actress also admitted that becoming a mother is a journey she has long been curious about.
“I’ve always wanted to see what that’s all about,” she said. “It just seems so interesting.”
Christopher Abbott has also shared his excitement about becoming a father. During an appearance on NBC’s Today in May, the actor acknowledged that the past year had been filled with major life changes, including his Tony Award nomination for Death of a Salesman. Despite the busy schedule, he described the experience as “very exciting.”

The couple’s relationship began as a professional collaboration. Plaza and Abbott first starred together in the 2019 psychological drama Black Bear, where they portrayed a married couple. They reunited in 2023 for the Off-Broadway production of Danny and the Deep Blue Sea, earning praise for their onstage chemistry.
In previous interviews, both actors have spoken highly of working together. Plaza once described Abbott as one of the country’s finest actors, while Abbott praised their willingness to embrace unconventional and emotionally demanding performances.
The pregnancy marks a significant new chapter in Plaza’s life following the death of her estranged husband, filmmaker Jeff Baena, in January 2025. Although the actress has largely kept her personal life private, she has occasionally reflected on navigating grief while continuing her career.

Plaza and Abbott made their first public appearance as a couple in April 2026, shortly after news of the pregnancy became public. They later made their red carpet debut together at the 2026 Tony Awards, where Abbott was nominated for his performance in Death of a Salesman.
With the baby’s arrival expected in the coming months, Plaza’s latest update offers fans another glimpse into a milestone she has largely chosen to experience away from the public eye.
