Lauryn “Pumpkin” Efird says her 8-year-old daughter was denied a place at a private school after administrators discovered Efird’s OnlyFans account — and she is now considering legal action.
The Here Comes Honey Boo Boo alum told TMZ that she is “weighing her options” after the Georgia school withdrew her daughter Ella’s acceptance. According to Efird, the school returned her deposit but told her administrators could no longer enroll her child because of her mother’s online presence.
The decision came as a surprise to Efird, who said her initial interactions with the school had been positive. She and Ella had visited the campus, and Efird said staff members had been “warm and communicative” when she first contacted them about a week and a half before the school reversed its decision.

Efird Says the School Changed Its Mind After Learning About Her Online Career

According to Efird, everything appeared to be going smoothly until August 28, when she received a call asking her to attend a mandatory meeting.
During the meeting, school administrators told her they were aware of her online content and had decided to withdraw Ella’s acceptance.
Efird said she was particularly frustrated because the school had apparently raised no concerns about her online presence during the enrollment process. She questioned why the issue was not addressed before Ella was accepted.
“Now that I know you guys are this judgy, my child doesn’t need to be here anyway,” Efird told the school.
The reality star said she is now considering legal action because she believes the school should have disclosed its concerns before accepting her daughter and taking her deposit.
For Efird, the situation was particularly upsetting because Ella had reportedly been excited about attending the school.
In a Facebook post, Efird said her daughter should not have had to experience being rejected in such a manner. She argued that the situation could have been handled with greater transparency and consideration, particularly because Ella was unaware that her mother’s online presence had become the reason for the school’s decision.
Pumpkin Says Ella Will Be Homeschooled Instead

Efird has since decided to homeschool Ella rather than continue searching for another traditional school.
According to Page Six, Efird had originally been looking for a private school because she wanted Ella to have access to a more challenging curriculum. She now says she has found a homeschool teacher who can provide the higher academic standards she was seeking.
“We’ve found a homeschool teacher who’s willing to provide the higher criteria Ella needs,” Efird wrote, adding that her daughter can now avoid what she described as a judgmental environment.
Efird shares Ella with her former husband, Joshua Efird. The pair were married from 2018 until 2024 and also share three other children: Stella, Sylus and Bentley.
The school controversy comes as Efird’s online career has increasingly become a subject of public attention. During an appearance on the TMZ Podcast, she previously said that she earns between $14,000 and $15,000 per day through OnlyFans.
Efird launched her account in March and has since expanded the type of content she creates on the platform with her boyfriend, Darrin Kitchens.
For now, Efird says her focus is on finding the best educational arrangement for Ella while she considers what steps, if any, to take against the school.
