Jeopardy! Masters is officially returning for Season 4, and fans will not have to wait much longer to see some of the game’s strongest champions face off once again. The tournament begins Tuesday, August 25, with a shorter format that will feature six competitors battling for the championship title, a $500,000 grand prize and the Trebek Trophy.

ABC announced the return of Jeopardy! Masters on June 18, following a third season in 2025 that saw lower ratings than the previous installment. Unlike earlier seasons, which featured nine competitors, Season 4 will include only six players. As a result, the tournament will run for two weeks.
Ken Jennings will return as host, continuing his role as the face of the tournament. The lineup includes reigning Jeopardy! Masters champion Yogesh Raut, along with Season 3 finalists Juveria Zaheer and Victoria Groce.
The remaining three competitors are 2026 Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions winner Paolo Pasco, 2026 Jeopardy! Invitational Tournament winner Andrew He, and Invitational Tournament runner-up Long Nguyen. Together, the six contestants represent some of the strongest recent competitors from across the Jeopardy! universe.
The tournament will begin with 12 quarterfinal games spread across six nights. Two games will air each night, creating an hour-long broadcast. The first four episodes will air from Tuesday, August 25, through Friday, August 28, with the next four airing from Tuesday, September 1, through Friday, September 4.

After the quarterfinals, the top four competitors will advance to the semifinals. They will play four games across two episodes before three finalists move on to the championship round. The two-game final will air Tuesday, September 8, with the overall scores determining the winner.
The scoring system will also play an important role throughout the tournament. Before the finals, players receive three match points for a first-place finish, one point for second place and no points for third. Match points reset when the semifinals begin, giving the remaining contestants a fresh start.
If competitors are tied in match points, the number of wins will be used as the first tiebreaker. If necessary, cumulative correct responses and scores will then determine who advances.
The stakes are high, but every contestant will leave with a cash prize. The winner will receive $500,000, the Jeopardy! Masters trophy and $100,000 donated to the charity of their choice. Second place receives $250,000, followed by $150,000 for third, $100,000 for fourth, $75,000 for fifth and $50,000 for sixth.

Previous Jeopardy! Masters champions include James Holzhauer, who won Season 1, Victoria Groce, who claimed Season 2, and Yogesh Raut, who won Season 3. Now, Raut will attempt to defend his title against five formidable challengers.
With only six competitors and a condensed schedule, Season 4 promises a fast-paced tournament where every game could significantly affect the road to the championship.
