Warning: Major spoilers for Furious Season 1, Episode 5, “Pick a Sticker,” ahead.
The latest episode of Furious pushes both Catherine and Alice deeper into dangerous territory as their separate investigations begin moving toward the same disturbing truth.

Catherine’s search for answers about Isabel’s death takes another brutal turn when she abducts Hal, the Easton family’s lawyer, and brings him to Alden Drummings’ home. Desperate to learn what happened to her friend, Catherine forces Hal to recount the events surrounding Isabel’s death.
Hal reveals that trafficker Adrian Murado contacted him after Isabel died. He also admits that he stole Caleb Easton’s car and took Catherine with him when she was still a teenager. Catherine remains convinced that Jay Easton was responsible for Isabel’s death, but Hal repeatedly insists that she is wrong.
The interrogation quickly becomes violent. Catherine tortures Hal until he finally reveals that he spent years secretly collecting documents, photographs and other evidence connected to the abuse surrounding the Easton family.
For Catherine, however, the revelation only makes Hal more culpable. She is furious that he apparently knew about the abuse but chose to preserve evidence rather than intervene. Even after confessing to collecting the files, Hal refuses to confirm Catherine’s belief that Jay killed Isabel.

His refusal does not save him.
Catherine kills Hal by driving a syringe into his eye, leaving Alden visibly disturbed by what he has witnessed. With another murder now behind her, Catherine realizes that she can no longer remain where she is.
Meanwhile, Alice refuses to abandon the investigation despite being removed from the case. She tracks down Deputy Carter, who previously worked with Nora and Ed George on the 2012 Jane Doe investigation. Carter tells Alice that Nora had once become deeply invested in the case, particularly in a mysterious hospital bracelet connected to the victim, before suddenly shutting the investigation down without leaving any explanation.
The discovery only increases Alice’s suspicions about Nora and Ed. She continues investigating the bracelet and begins to suspect that it may have been connected to a Safe Surrender baby box. Alice also learns that Catherine has been identified as the mysterious woman seen in a photograph after a nurse at Alden’s home contacted the authorities.
At the same time, Marshall continues pressuring Alice to withdraw her allegations against him. Rather than giving in, Alice appears to cooperate with him while secretly preparing her own plan.
When Marshall arrives at her apartment, Alice begins drinking and deliberately creates an intimate situation between them. But the encounter is not what it appears to be. Alice has secretly recorded what happens, and after Marshall leaves, she contacts her neighbor and has the police called.
The move leaves Marshall furious while creating another problem for Nora and Ed. They fear that his behavior could bring unwanted attention back to the old investigation they have been trying to keep hidden.
The investigation takes another turn when Danny and Choi arrive at Alden’s home and discover Hal’s body. Alden, meanwhile, remains alive and appears willing to take responsibility for the killing.
Alice continues following the clues surrounding Isabel and eventually travels to a Safe Surrender location to investigate her theory about the hospital bracelet.
Then, in the episode’s final moments, Alice comes face-to-face with someone she has been unknowingly moving toward throughout the investigation: Catherine.
The encounter brings two storylines that have largely unfolded separately into direct contact. Catherine has been pursuing answers through increasingly violent methods, while Alice has been attempting to uncover the same mystery through an investigation that has repeatedly been obstructed.
Now that the two women have finally crossed paths, the truth about Isabel’s death may be closer to coming out than ever before. But with Catherine already willing to kill anyone standing between her and the answers she wants, Alice’s discovery could put her in greater danger than she realizes.
Furious leaves Episode 5 with its biggest question yet: what will happen when Alice finally learns just how far Catherine has gone to uncover the truth?
