Former Good Morning America Weekend host Janai Norman stepped into the spotlight again with a glamorous appearance at a New York City wedding, months after her departure from the ABC morning show.

The 36-year-old journalist attended the celebration alongside her husband, Eli, and Fox News anchor Kenneth Moton. Moton shared a series of photos from the event on Instagram, showing the trio posing on a rooftop balcony with the New York City skyline behind them.
Norman stood out in a striking gold minidress as she posed alongside Moton, while her husband completed the group with a grey suit and white Nike sneakers. The former GMA personality appeared relaxed and happy during the celebration, drawing plenty of attention from fans in the comments.
“You look beautiful,” one follower wrote, while another praised the group for looking “gorgeous and expensive.”
The wedding appearance comes several months after Norman confirmed her exit from GMA Weekend. In April, she shared an emotional message with viewers, expressing disappointment that she did not have the opportunity to properly say goodbye after her time on the program came to an unexpected end.
“I hoped that we’d have more time,” Norman said at the time, adding that the shortened goodbye had been difficult for her. She also reflected on how much she had loved her job and the people she worked with.
Since leaving ABC, however, Norman has remained outspoken about her experiences and the broader issues surrounding news coverage. In recent weeks, she publicly criticized her former employer and addressed an interview conducted by GMA co-host Michael Strahan.
Norman took issue with Strahan’s questioning of the parents of Nolan Wells, an 18-year-old who died after attending an Independence Day gathering on Horn Island, a barrier island off Mississippi’s Gulf Coast. She argued that the questioning placed an unfair burden on grieving parents by asking them to defend a decision that had not been definitively established.
Norman described the question as insensitive and argued that journalists should approach such cases with greater context and care. She also criticized news organizations for relying heavily on law enforcement accounts without sufficiently addressing the historical and social context surrounding Mississippi.
Her comments sparked discussion online, particularly after she accused news organizations of becoming “complicit in upholding white supremacy” by overlooking that broader context.
Despite the controversy surrounding her departure and subsequent comments, Norman’s latest public appearance offered a different image. Away from the television studio and recent headlines, she appeared to be enjoying an evening surrounded by friends and family.
With Norman now pursuing her next chapter outside GMA, her public appearances and outspoken commentary continue to attract attention from viewers who followed her years on the morning show.
