One of Meghan Markle’s “biggest issues” has been described, including the problem of her never fully understanding “the gravitas” of marrying into the Royal Family, it has been claimed. It comes as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex appear to be on different pages when delivering public messages.
The Duchess claimed that she and Prince Harry are enjoying a “honeymoon period” during an appearance on a podcast, meanwhile Prince Harry talked about the fallout within his family and losing a battle over his family’s security in the UK. A source told OK! Magazine about the main problem Meghan faces: “One of Meghan’s biggest issues was that she never fully understood the gravitas of what it means to be marrying into the Firm.
“She didn’t necessarily understand the rules and how it operates.”

The source continued: “The Royal Family isn’t a normal family, so a family argument or, even worse, an estrangement, isn’t the same for the royals as it is for everyone else, including her.
“The door for reconciliation is probably closed now for future generations too. Serious situations like this don’t just ease over time. The Royal Family doesn’t and can’t work like that. Meghan’s been so focused on rebranding herself – which she does need to do, especially in the States where her popularity is dipping – that maybe she doesn’t realise how huge this is for Harry.”
Meghan has had an extremely busy 2025, with the launch of her Instagram account, the rebranding of American Riviera Orchard to As Ever, and the launch of her Netflix show, ‘With Love, Meghan’.
She also launched a new podcast series with Lemonada Media, titled ‘Confessions of a Female Founder’. The podcast debuted on April 8, 2025, and features Meghan talking with female founders and friends who have started their own companies and brands
Harry, however, has been juggling supporting his wife’s business launches with his own personal battles. After losing his legal fight over the level of security for himself, Meghan, Archie, six, and Lilibet, three, while in the UK, he delivered a number of bombshells in an interview with the BBC.
As well as saying he didn’t know “how much longer his father has,” he revealed the extent of their fallout, saying his dad “won’t speak to him” because of the security issue.

The interview was conducted by the BBC, came just a few days after Meghan told podcaster, Jamie Kern Lima, she and Harry were now in “more of a honeymoon period” and “enjoying each other in a new way”.
The source also claimed the situation is complicated because of Meghan’s own estrangement from her family, which means it could be hard for her to understand why Harry can’t “move on”.
They added: “What happened with her dad, for example, was different, and she doesn’t necessarily see why it’s so hard for Harry to just draw a line under things and move on…” It was described just “how emotional” Harry was in the BBC interview for his family, country and the people.
“If Meghan didn’t realise that before, she needs to realise now and step up for Harry because he’s going to need her. She loves him deeply and wouldn’t want to see him hurting, so she’s going to have to understand the pain he’s in and focus on him for a while.”
