WHAT IS THIS?! Outlander Releases Unusual New Hour-Long Background Videos For Fans

There’s something magical about the music and sounds of the Outlander universe. It’s not surprising that the Outlander Yule Log video from a few years ago remains a popular piece to put on in the background during this time of year.

Now with the universe growing, we have two more videos. These hour-long videos are connected to Outlander: Blood of My Blood, focusing on the story of the 18th century.

Warm yourself by the fireplace at Castle Leoch in the first Outlander: Blood of My Blood video

The first video is another Yule Log type clip. For an hour, the fire at Castle Leoch burns, inviting you to sit back and relax to the sounds of the burning. The camera steadily moves back and forth across the two pillars, where fires burn from the tops of lanterns.

The benefit of a video like this is comfort. There’s a sense of warmth when you listen to the fire burn, and you can have it on in the background while you get on with other tasks around the house or while you’re wrapping presents for the kids.

Will you be ruined in the abandoned kirk?

One of the most iconic scenes from Outlander: Blood of My Blood has to be the “ruin me” scene, and it’s no surprise that Outlander has brought us a video that focuses on that. In this case, it’s a still of the setting from the kirk, with the music of the series playing in the background.

Spots of light dazzle from the light that shines through the windows of the kirk, and little bits of dust falls around the set. Every now and then, there’s a glimpse of the sun through the smaller window on the right of the screen. This is just a chance to sit back and relax to the sounds of Outlander: Blood of My Blood, and it’s also a great way to play the soundtrack while you get along with chores for the day.

For now, it’s only the 18th-century storylines of Outlander: Blood of My Blood that have been captured in the Yule Log videos. There are others from other shows, including a new Outlander one that we’re excited to share, but there’s nothing of Henry and Julia’s story just yet. However, we’re hoping to see something, even if it is just something in their 1920 flat before they ended up falling through the stones.

Outlander: Blood of My Blood is available to stream on STARZ.
