Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe have legendary chemistry in Outlander.

And now fans can get a look at how they had sparks during her audition in a clip shared on the season three Collector’s Edition Blu-Ray.

The actors jump into an intense scene where they get close and embrace in from of casting directors.

Sam already had his role, but producers wanted to see how Caitriona played off of him.

The result was terrific as they achieved immediate intimacy in the cold-looking room.

It was Balfe’s final screen test for the show which has gone on to have a cult following.

Showrunner Ronald D. Moore said they were happy with Balfe, but wanted to see them interact in more naturally.

The audition ‘literally sealed the deal and got the show’ he added.

This video comes after the cast of Outlander re-created the confessional scenes from …When Harry Met Sally in honor of Valentine’s Day on Wednesday.

Heughan and Balfe both reflected on what they thought was the most romantic gesture their Outlander characters have enacted on the show. 

The onscreen couple started the short video off with the famous and hilarious R-rated scene from the 80s movie.

The rest of the Outlander cast were also paired up as they gave insight about their most romantic moments as well.

Romann Berrux, Lauren Lyle, Richard Rankin and Sophie Skelton each gave their favorite couple moments from the show, along with wishing their fans a Happy Valentine’s Day.

John Bell- who plays young and single Ian Murray on the show- was the only one from the cast who sat on the couch for a solo interview.

The Outlander cast were all smiles as they described their favorite love scenes.

From pearl necklaces to cooking eggs, the stars laughed while explaining to fans what made each of these scenes so special to their characters.

Outlander fans are currently anticipating the show’s fourth season which is set to take place in a new continent.

Season four will be released in late 2018 on Starz.
