Twinsies in Fashion: Kate & Meghan’s 6 Maternity Style Moments That Matched Too Well

Meghan Markle is getting ready to welcome her first child with Prince Harry and a new baby will join the royal fold. As Duchess Kate has become a mom three times over, she’s quite familiar with the royal motherhood gig and is likely giving Meghan some maternity advice and wisdom. Perhaps, Kate is also guiding Meghan’s fashion choices as she prepares for the Sussex scion.

Here are 6 Times Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle’s Maternity Style was Totally Twinning:

1. Garden State

Kate and Meghan look especially girly and glam in their equally elegant floral maternity dresses. In February 2018, the Duchess of Cambridge showed off her new pregnancy curves in an Orla Kiely printed dress while the Duchess of Sussex wore a fitted white and gray Brock collection dress for a solo stop in Twickenham.

2. In the Navy

For Christmas, Meghan went for a wool midi dress from Victoria Beckham for a walk to church at Sandringham; the navy ensemble was similar to Kate’s Commonwealth Day style where she opted for Beulah London. Meghan also attended the Westminster Abbey service so perhaps she took a little style inspo from her sister-in-law?

3. Burgundy Bump Watch

The Duchess of Sussex made a surprise visit to the Hubb Community Kitchen late last year–she looked every inch the modern duchess in Givenchy boots and a preppy Club Monaco shift dress. Kate looked equally stunning in a similar burgundy Goat Tunic dress midway through her pregnancy with Prince Louis.

4. Peaches and Cream

Meghan wore an iconic Burberry trench in New Zealand on tour with Prince Harry–the coat looked similar to a layered look worn by the Duchess of Cambridge in her late stages of pregnancy with Prince George in the summer of 2013. Perhaps, Meghan is also expecting a bouncing baby boy and was dropping a very sly style hint?

5. In the Trenches

For her first day of the royal tour in Sydney, Meghan covered up her Blessed sheath dress by Karen Gee with a Martin Grant trench coat. The Duchess of Cambridge shopped for antiques in a similar style in 2013 while expecting Prince George.

6. Pending Parenthood

Meghan and Kate selected similar business casual styles for royal duties. In March of 2018 the Duchess of Cambridge looked modern and chic in London wearing Goat’s Redgrave coat, a top by Hobbs and a pair of strechy black jeans with black heels. Meghan opted for a similar style on the Royal Tour Oceania with a striped L’ Agence blazer and Aquazzura pointed heels.
