Outlander has delivered so many top-tier kisses over the past seven seasons that we’ve lost count — most of them between Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan), of course. The time traveler and her 18th-century highlander’s romance is one for the ages, and a story as epic as theirs is bound to produce some equally legendary smooches. Whether they’re being reunited after 20 years apart or confessing their love for the first time, Jamie and Claire seriously know how to bring it in the kissing department.
Of course, we’d be remiss not to show their daughter, Brianna (Sophie Skelton), and her beau, Roger (Richard Rankin), some love. Our other favorite Outlander couple, Marsali (Lauren Lyle) and Fergus (César Domboy), have had some memorable lip-locks, too. Though we’re sure we’re going to have plenty of kisses to consider when the eighth and final season arrives, what better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than by ranking our favorite Outlander kisses so far? We’re sure a few escaped us — seriously, there are dozens of them — but these seven stand out.
Let us know your thoughts in the comments section at the end of the page, and tell us your top pick, too!
Outlander, Season 8 Premiere, Friday, March 6, Starz
Fergus and Marsali have had some rocky times since they got married, but we’ll always love their wedding in “Uncharted.” Their special night has some funny moments, but it doesn’t make it any less sweet. Their kiss is picture-perfect and the peak of their happiness. Not every top-tier kiss needs to be packed with angst.

6. Roger & Brianna, “Man of Worth” (Season 4, Episode 13)
Again, reunion kisses just hit differently. Admittedly, they have some problems to work through, but we’ll give Roger some grace. After being taken captive by the Mohawk, he almost doesn’t return to Brianna upon finding out that the baby she just birthed might not be his. However, Roger decides that he wants to be with her no matter what. Their kiss has a perfect setup: Brianna spots Roger from her window, arriving on horseback. She rushes to meet him, and they collide in the middle of a field. They deliver on the execution, too, of course.
We love a love confession, and Jamie and Claire have a stellar one. After settling in to Jamie’s family home, Jamie wraps Claire in a hug and lays out all the reasons he married her, making both Claire and us swoon. He recalls the moment he fell in love with her, and after a soft kiss, Claire returns the sentiment. It’s not their most intense kiss, but it’s one of the most heartfelt.

4. Roger & Brianna, “Wilmington” (Season 4, Episode 8)
We have to give Jamie and Claire the top three spots for obvious reasons, but Roger and Brianna have given them a run for their money a few times. One of our favorite moments of theirs is when they handfast in Season 4. After they offer up some heartfelt vows, they seal the deal with a kiss that’s just as tender as it is steamy. They have a good ambiance with the fire going, making their smooch all the more intimate.
We hate it when Jamie and Claire go through so much emotional turmoil, but we also love the kisses that come from them being put through the wringer. “Dragonfly in Amber” is one of the couple’s most tragic episodes as Jamie convinces his wife to time-travel through stones to save their unborn baby. The desperate kiss they share quickly turns into some passionate lovemaking, as many of Jamie and Claire’s best kisses do. The star-crossed context of their kiss(es) makes it one of the series’ best.

2. Jamie & Claire, “The Wedding” (Season 1, Episode 7)
Jamie and Claire’s first kiss will always be special. Jamie says it himself later on their wedding night: “When you kissed me like that, well, maybe you weren’t so sorry to be marrying me after all.” They might not have the years of history between them that makes their other kisses so good, but it’s a precursor to how deep their bond will become.
No kiss quite hits like Jamie and Claire’s first after being separated for so long. Claire’s spent two decades in the present thinking her husband died, while Jamie thought his beloved would never be able to return. Jamie faints when he first lays eyes on Claire (understandably), but once he gets over his shock, they share a passionate kiss. They pack so much angst and relief into the gesture that we couldn’t not put it at the top of our list. They still got it, and we never doubted them!
