Priyanka Chopra and Sam Heughan share a kiss in Love Again as their unexpected connection blossoms into romance.

The film sees Priyanka and Sam play Mira and Rob.

Dealing with the loss of her fiance, Mira sends romantic text messages to his phone but does not realise the number was reassigned to Rob’s new work phone. The pair soon connect.

The trailer opens with a peek of Priyanka as Mira, who is having a hard time adjusting to life without her partner.

Rob is a journalist who is enthralled by Mira’s openness about her past scars in her honest and sorrowful texts.

He is assigned to write a piece about singer Celine Dion. Surprisingly the singer then helps Rob to find Mira.

While attending an opera, Rob and Mira run into each other and hit it off immediately.

However, Rob finds it difficult to express his feelings for Mira after falling for her through texts.

But things develop and Mira and Rob share a passionate kiss.

Priyanka’s real-life husband Nick Jonas has a cameo in the film as one of Mira’s unsuccessful dates as he awkwardly tries to kiss her.

In an interview ahead of the film’s release, Priyanka Chopra said that she was excited to do Love Again – which she calls “our ode to Céline”.

Priyanka said: “I think having new music from her is such a blessing in this movie.”

Love Again is a remake of the 2016 German film SMS für Dich and Priyanka explained that she was “so moved” by the film because it is “about hope” and “finding love again,” as well as “having your mind open to the fact that magic can happen”.

She continued:

“It’s all of those things coming together and at a time when I feel like not too many hopeful movies are being made.”

For Priyanka, Love Again stands out in the rom-com genre in that it “tackles mature issues” and the “complexities” that come about during the “sensitive journey” of finding unexpected new love while navigating grief.

She added: “It was just such a joy to be able to do this character because Mira is just a really sensitive, empathetic person who’s stuck in a place she can’t seem to get out of.

“And we’ve all been there.”
