Good Morning Britain star Richard Madeley has made a rare insight into his marriage to wife Judy Finnigan as he admitted that she ‘wouldn’t know what to do’ if he suddenly died
Good Morning Britain’s Richard Madeley has given fans a glimpse into his private life, revealing that his wife Judy would be at a loss if he were to pass away unexpectedly.
The veteran broadcaster, who has been hitched to Judy Finnigan since 1986 after sparks flew between them as ITV reporters, shared the personal admission during a recent episode of the popular morning show.
On Wednesday, Richard and his co-host Ranvir Singh chatted with Gogglebox’s Marcus Luther and his partner Mica Ven about their stint on the Channel 4 programme Celebrity Send-Off, which involves couples planning each other’s funerals.
Intrigued, Ranvir probed: “What did you think when you got the call asking you to be on a show about planning each other’s funerals? ” To which Marcus responded: “For me it was the same thing like most people would say ‘why would you want to do that’.”

Reflecting on the emotional journey, Marcus added: “I didn’t think it would be hard but there were moments where I was reflecting on her life and I was just speaking and things got emotional. The thought that one day one of them isn’t going to be here.”
Seizing the moment, Richard divulged that he and Judy have never broached the topic of funeral arrangements for themselves.

The star expressed, “I’m just thinking about my own marriage and I don’t think that I have ever even thought about what kind of funeral I would like, still not told Judy.”
He further added, “So if I got hit by a bus on my way home today she wouldn’t know what I wanted and I’m not sure I do either.”
Intriguingly, he directed a question to the couple saying, “So what kind of funeral would you like?” Marcus turned to Mica, his wife, teasingly commented “The one I’ve planned.”
