GOOD MORNING BRITAIN was back with the second instalment of the week and those watching at home saw Piers Morgan surprised when he found out how Judy Finnigan was going to return to TV screens for the first time in 18 years.

Between the two of them they won several National Television Awards, before moving to Channel 4 in 2001.
Judy left TV in 2011 to write novels and vowed never to return, saying: “I wouldn’t remotely want to do television again.”
But, following a brief stint on the blue sofa to promote their book club, ITV announced a one off special This Morning programme where Richard and Judy would be presenting.
“We went to do This Morning about six weeks ago to talk about our Book Club and the regular presenters weren’t on so I took a few liberties and just nicked the links, so like ‘here’s Laura with the weather’, that kind of stuff,” Richard explained to Piers and Susanna.

“And the viewers liked it and then Judy got cross and said ‘Look, excuse me, you’re not Piers Morgan, I’ll have a word here.’
“She did a couple of links and the viewers liked it and they said ‘Would you come back and do a show?’
“Judy has always said no, she will not -“ he continued but was cut off by Piers who said: “I’m not surprised you want to do it, I’m surprised she does!”
“She’s says no to everything on the telly, she’s just completely left television. And the editor came round afterwards and said ‘Would you come back and do a show, just a one off, just for the hell of it?’” Richard revealed.

“And she said ‘Yes ok,’ and afterwards I said ‘What happened?’
“It was just like the Doc in Back to the Future, when he puts the letter back together at the end and Marty says to him ‘but you said if you did that then the space time continues and explode and everything’ and the Doc said ‘I just figured what the hell!’
“And that was Judy ‘What the hell!’” Richard remarked.
Piers was then keen to find out whether or not this one off opportunity has ignited the spark for Judy to return to television and do other gigs.
