Phillip Schofield confirmed that his beloved mum had passed away in a heartbreaking statement
Phillip Schofield is in mourning after the loss of his beloved mother, Pat. The TV star took to Instagram on Monday (14 October) evening to share the heartbreaking news with his 2.7 million followers.
Coming just weeks after his return to TV on Channel 5’s Cast Away, Phillip released a touching statement accompanied by photos with his mum. He wrote: “Today, at 3pm and after a heartbreaking weekend, my magnificent mum decided it was time to go to her beloved Brian. Over three days, we held her, loved her, hugged her and said everything that needed to be said. She was calm, peaceful, beautiful and dignified. I will forever be proud and privileged that she was my mum.”

Phillip also expressed his deep appreciation for the medical staff who cared for his mother: “Our eternal thanks to the paramedics, Treliske A&E and Critical Care team who have been, in the past and this weekend, my mum’s and our angels. Your love and care has been our saviour.”
Additionally, he shared more cherished images and an incredible video of Pat wing-walking, with Phillip admiringly commenting, “God I loved her for wanting to do this,” and noting she was “One of the oldest ever ladies to wing walk,” reports the Express.
Phillip’s daughter, Molly, also paid a heartfelt tribute to her late grandmother following his moving announcement. On her Instagram Stories, she shared her father’s message with a broken-heart emoji and posted a photo of herself and sister Ruby with their grandma.
Molly affectionately wrote: “Love you so much Bo,” adding: “Give a huge kiss to Bri when you see him.” Ruby also shared her feelings, and posted: “We will miss you so much Bo. Love you more than yesterday and less than tomorrow. Bri has been waiting for you, give him the biggest hug for us.

Molly and Ruby recently graced our screens on the Channel 5 series Cast Away, as their father Phillip made a comeback more than a year after his departure from This Morning in May 2023. His exit followed his admission of an “unwise but not illegal” relationship with a younger ITV colleague.
Molly, 31, and Ruby, 28, and Phillip’s wife Stephanie Lowe featured in three-part series, complete with family barbecue scenes at home. Speaking on the show, Molly spoke openly about her tight-knit relationship with her dad and shared her wish for him to be welcomed back by the public.
She opened up: “When my dad came out it was very hard for me. It was very hard for the entire family. Mainly my mum, of course – everything was turned upside down. But we talked through it and [over time] it’s got easier.

“My mum and my sister, we’re all the same. We’ll always continue to support him, no matter what. I never thought it would have gone the way it has.”
Molly also gushed about the strong family ties, considering herself the “luckiest person” because her parents managed to stay “best friends” despite the chaos. She continued: “We’ve seen him at his lowest times, but I’ve been so proud of him, and as a daughter to see the love that people had for him that when it’s taken away it’s just heartbreaking… I would love people to understand what’s actually happened.”
