The internet can’t stop talking about how much the actor looks like the legendary movie star

If you’ve been to the movies at any point in the last year, you’ve probably seen actor Pedro Pascal. You’ve also probably thought, like, “Wow, he looks familiar.” And you’re not wrong! Recently, Pascal has gone viral on social media after entertainment lovers realized just how much he looked like the late Gunsmoke actor Burt Reynolds. In fact, the internet has even gone as far as to fan-cast Pascal in a biopic centered around Reynolds, which sounds intriguing, especially if you know how dramatic his life really was. Below, we share everything you need to know about the actors, including if there’s actually a film in the works.
A look at who Burt Reynolds was

Reynolds was a beloved actor most people recognize from Gunsmoke (1962 to 1965) and Smokey and the Bandit (1977). And while those projects were dramatic, they were nothing compared to his love life.
During the peak of his career, Reynolds was married twice—first to Judy Carne from 1963 until 1965 and then to Loni Anderson from 1988 to 1994. He was also in several high-profile relationships with stars like Dinah Shore, Adrienne Barbeau, Doris Day, Faye Dunaway and Sally Field, whom he called the love of his life.
“I miss her terribly,” Reynolds told Vanity Fair in 2015, speaking of Field. “Even now, it’s hard on me. I don’t know why I was so stupid. Men are like that, you know. You find the perfect person, and then you do everything you can to screw it up.”
And for Reynolds, that feeling wasn’t limited to romance. “There isn’t anything, no matter how good it is, or how good it tastes or how much fun it is, where too much is good for you. It can destroy you,” he continued. “And you have to learn. It’s a hard lesson, but you have to learn to back off and do as good as you can in your chosen profession. And don’t screw it up. And the best way to screw it up is having too much of a good thing.”
Reynolds died in 2018 from a heart attack. He was 82 years old.
Get to know Pedro Pascal

Pascal is a 50-year-old Chilean actor best known for projects like Game of Thrones (2014), Graceland (2013 to 2014), Narcos (2015 to 2017), Kingsman: The Golden Circle (2017), The Mandalorian (2019 to 2023), Gladiator II (2024), The Last of Us (2023 to present) and Fantastic Four: First Steps (2025). He is also set to star in Avengers: Doomsday, which releases in 2026.
“Stepping into my 40s felt adult and empowered,” Pascal told Vanity Fair earlier this year. “Fifty felt more vulnerable—much more vulnerable…What a silly thing for a 50-year-old man—to have all this attention! This is such shadow-voice sh*t, you know what I mean?”
And when it comes to his love life Pascal is more tight-lipped. He’s believed to be single, but he seems to prefer keeping his private life private.
Is Pedro Pascal going to star in a Burt Reynolds biopic?

Despite the online speculation and the fact that the two actors do look similar, no plans for a biopic about Reynolds have been announced. But if it were to happen, we think Pascal would be the perfect choice to start!
And Pascal has talked about his love for Reynolds, saying in a 2017 SYFY interview that his character Whiskey in Kingsman: The Golden Circle was inspired by classic Reynolds roles and films.
“That’s exactly what I was going for,” he said.
