ITV sacked Phillip Schofield after it was revealed he lied about an affair with a younger male colleague

Disgraced This Morning presenter Phillip Schofield has been spotted in public for the first time in weeks after disappearing from public view following the fallout of his affair with a younger male colleague.

The 61-year-old, who was sacked by ITV after news of his affair came to light, has been pictured clutching onto a vape in Cornwall. Phillip appeared glum in the photos as he continues to stay out of the limelight following his dismissal from ITV.

It is thought Phillip is staying in Cornwall with his mother Pat and is currently celebrating her 87th birthday. He was wearing a blue T-shirt, blue and white Converse trainers and off-white shorts as he was spotted during a rare outing.

Phillip sported a light tan in the photos and had had a haircut, Mirror Online reports. The pictures have appeared just weeks after he revealed in a BBC interview that the ordeal and fallout from his sacking had left him suicidal.

A body language expert told the Mirror that although Phillip appears downcast in the photographs, he is actually “relaxed”. Judi James said: There are deep furrows etched on his forehead and deep grooves down either side of his mouth.

“His face looks jowly from side view but that’s possibly a result of the weight he said he had dropped since the drama started. But otherwise Schofield looks tanned and relatively relaxed here, like a man who has taken what must be his first break from work in several decades.”

Phillip has previously spoken of his fear of never being able to return to public life. He feared being shouted at or spat on because of what had happened.

He said: “I do not know a time I will be able to walk out of the door. I don’t have any spirit.

“My friends tell me, ‘It will get better’. It won’t. Not now. Not this one.”
