She has been gracing the TV screen with her other half since 1988.

Despite her bubbly demeanour on screen, Judy Finnigan, 69, appeared less than impressed as she ate a simple salad alongside her husband Richard Madeley, 61, in the South of France.

The broadcaster – who fronted ITV stalwart This Morning from 1988 – 2001 – looked glum as she dined on her healthy lunch and sipped on a carbonated beverage with her other half of 31 years.

Resting her head on her hand, the blonde presenter appeared downcast while she donned a crochet poncho with fringe detailing for the sun-soaked occasion.

She teamed her low-key look with a matching white string top and pair of black flared denims as her oversized sunnies rested on her stone table.

Leaving her tresses loose, she happily read her book before leaving the restaurant with her other half who was laden down with groceries including a French baguette.

Complementing Judy’s look, Richard followed her laidback lead as he donned a simple white T-shirt and long denim shorts with his camel-coloured Birkenstocks.

The presenter draped his backpack over his shoulder while working a pair of on- trend shades while his grey-hued locks were swept off his face.

Judy has been smitten with Richard for nearly 35 years after they met in 1982 when they worked together at Granada Television.

Chloe, Richard and Judy’s 29-year-old fitness buff daughter, spoke last year about her parents’ wine drinking, insisting she tries to positively influence them.

She said: ‘I try to influence my mum and dad’s diets. I try so hard to stop them eating all this crap, and they drink too much wine but they just want to enjoy themselves.’

Their trip comes after notorious prisoner Charles Bronson is suing TV presenter Richard Madeley after he wrongly claimed the hard man had attacked a governor.

Madeley made the error on live television while standing in as host of Good Morning Britain in February.

Bronson, 64, has begun legal action against the presenter for defamation after comments he made while interviewing the prisoner’s fiancee Paula Williamson.

Madeley said: ‘He could have been out years ago if he behaved himself. We have his charge sheet and his last incident he attacked the governor last year. You’re not going to be let out of prison if you do stuff like that.’

When Paula claims an attack did not happen last year, the presenter looks into the camera and says: ‘Charlie you’re watching now. You’re lying.

A friend of Bronson, who spoke to the prisoner, told the newspaper that his mother was ‘upset’ at the gaff as he had promised not to get involved in more violence.

In a statement, Good Morning Britain admitted its mistake and said it was happy to make a clarification.

Bronson is one of the country’s most notorious prisoners and has spent the majority of the past four decades imprisoned for a series of violent crimes.
