Chloe Madeley has transformed her body and carved out a successful career as a fitness guru – and is thrilled her parents are finally following her advice by adopting a super-clean lifestyle.

The 30-year-old’s mum Judy Finnigan and dad Richard Madeley are sporting slimline figures thanks to a new-found love of exercise and low-fat food.

Chloe said: “I’ve been telling them for years to be more health-conscious but they never really took any notice until now.

“They know exercise and healthy eating have transformed my life and I’m always giving them little hints and tips.

“I never thought they took any of it on board until out of the blue they started walking more and eating sushi.

“They’ve always loved stodgy food like pie and mash, so it’s a massive change. After a few weeks, the weight fell off and they’re both looking and feeling great. I’d love to take all of the credit, but they’ve done it by themselves.

“Now, when I visit, the fridge is packed with salad. I couldn’t be more proud.”

Chloe overhauled her lifestyle five years ago after cruel comments from online trolls left her feeling anxious and depressed.

She admits she struggled to find her own identity after being known as “Richard and Judy’s daughter”.

Chloe said: “I didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life and reading negative comments about my appearance didn’t help.

“I followed my parents into TV but it wasn’t right for me. I was very anxious, insecure and had some depressive moments.

“I’m quite emotional and would feel things to a higher degree than most people.”

It wasn’t until one of Chloe’s friends introduced her to weightlifting that she gained confidence.

She said: “It changed my life in a multitude of ways. I started thinking more about what was fuelling my body and felt very free and happy.

“I took back control and my parents could see the difference. Having a plan to stick to was really good for my anxiety and seeing the results of my hard work reinforced that I could do it.

“I love feeling strong and capable as I don’t feel that naturally. The structure, purpose and discipline really helped.”

Now, she has written her first book, The 4-Week Body Blitz, which is aimed at helping people get into shape after Christmas excesses.

Chloe, who is also a qualified personal trainer, said the book – which gives a healthy-eating and fitness plan to help change your body in just a month – has been receiving great feedback.

She said: “I’ve been training myself and clients for five years and want to show people how they can combine exercise and healthy eating to shed fat.

“It took eight months to write the book and the feedback has been incredible. People post pictures online of their results and I’m blown away by how successful it is.

“It’s tough but it gives you results and the tools to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

“It’s guaranteed to change your body in four weeks, no matter your starting point.”

Chloe, who has been dating Wasps and England rugby star James Haskell, 32, for four years, says she’s ready for marriage but isn’t in a rush to have kids.

The pair, who live together, met after James followed her on social media. They hit it off and haven’t looked back.

She said: “He saw a picture on Twitter of me lifting weights. He kept calling and calling. I was up-front and said, ‘I don’t want to sleep with you, I don’t want to date you, I’m not interested.’ But he won me over and we’re very happy together.

“We’ll get married when the time is right but we’re not in any rush. We’re undecided on babies and are thinking, ‘Are we about that? Do we see our lives going there?’

“It’s a really scary thing to contemplate. I see a lot of my friends getting married and having kids but it’s just not that pressing for us at the moment. I don’t want to rule anything out for the future. We both feel very lucky we found each other.”

Chloe, who trains six days a week, says she rarely goes to the gym with James as it usually ends in a row.

The focused pair also allow themselves a cheat day where they eat and drink whatever they fancy.

She said: “James has his way of training and I have mine. If we’re in the gym together we end up bickering about who does it best.

“James is up at 7am for rugby training and I go to the gym and do my own workout while he’s doing that.

“By the time we see each other in the afternoon, training is over.

“The only time we work out together is when we’re on holiday.

“James is a natural athlete. He can do anything which is great. We’re very much on the same level when it comes to our wellbeing.

“We try to be really healthy during the week but allow ourselves a naughty treat or two at the weekend.

“It’s about balance and moderation. It’s good to take one day off to have fun and drink some wine – otherwise life would be boring.”

Chloe is supporting Edinburgh’s first-ever Wellbeing Festival on January 27 and 28.

She said: “It’s my first trip to Scotland and there are so many places I want to visit. At the event, I’ll be discussing my fitness plan and helping others with tips and advice.”
